Lois, we really liked the Canada/New England cruise we took in Oct. I had all sorts of layers in case it was cold. It ended up being so warm that I was rolling up my pant legs and wishing I had shorts. If you like lobster, a lobster roll is a must in Bar Harbor.

I have been checking the weather....50's....60's........so not warm

at all.;).....I will throw in a pair of capri's but I think it will be long pants

most every day.

Thanks for all the good wishes:)

Hi Sandy and Bonnie:)

Hi Lois! I've been away from the Boards for more than a year, after having to cancel my last cruise due to my mom's bad fall. DH and I, along with another couple are going to go to Alaska next August, so, of course, I'm back browsing around.

I am so sorry to hear of you diagnosis but it appears that everything is under control. I wish you the very best.

I imagine you are on your cruise with your sister right now and I hope you are having a BLAST!

Is that all, a nice time? Please tell more, been waiting to hear all about it.:)

Good morning:).......back to work today....I would be happy to answer

any questions but I am not writing a review.

Ship is a nice size (smaller)......we don't really like the "MEGA SHIPS"....

I went on this cruise with my sister......not used to sailing with anyone

else but we got along pretty well during the week. (you probably know

I usually sail solo).

The weather was sunny the first day in Portland but went downhill after

that:eek:

We sailed on Royal Caribbean's Serenade of The Seas.

Hi Lois. I am just reading this thread and had no idea you were going through all of this. I am also on a very expensive chronic medical treatment. I hope that knowing that there is a maximum out of pocket loss is helpful. The annual insurance premium raises are killing me though. It is stories like yours that keep me from changing insurance companies...I can't imagine going through all of that hassle to get medically necessary treatment. It's just not right. Hang in there.

Today it's my turn - after all the many long months of waiting, we are off. We fly to Barcelona where, along with 3 of our adult kids, will spend a week touring, wining, dining, shopping, wining, wandering, wining (do you see a trend here?) and enjoying the best of Barcelona. We send them home on the 4th, then DH and I board the Eurodam for a 15 day trans-Atlantic to Ft. Lauderdale. We did the same cruise 2 years ago and enjoyed it so much, we felt we just had to do it again.

Stay well, play nice, and be kind to each other.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

Good morning....I am going on a weekend cruise with a group of friends

that I have met through Cruise Critic:)....we are sailing from Pt Canaveral on Friday. We have a group of about 15 and it only takes me 2 hours to

drive to the port for this one:)

And I know we don't discuss politics on here, but just a reminder....everyone

needs to vote tomorrow......(unless you have voted early already).

Lois, hope you had a nice cruise! Fun to go with a group. WA State is mail-in ballots only so voting was easy. I had to go on a business trip from Seattle to Charlotte Nov. 6-8, getting home on election day. Oy.

Hope you're doing well!

We are leaving the house today for a pre-flight hotel near LAX. Tomorrow we fly to NYC where we will spend a couple of days being tourists before boarding the Carnival Vista for an 11-day repositioning cruise. I had decided that I was going to pack LIGHT for the first time, keeping it around 20 pounds. Hah! I'm still over 30, but that's probably lighter than the last cruise we took. :)

I consider 30 lbs to still be light, lol. Hope you're having a nice time!

Good morning........doing well, thank you for thinking of me.:)

My next Dr appt is Dec 7th....I go see him once a month and they take blood and he has been pleased with results so far:)

I see you are going on Reflection in January. Hope you have a wonderful

cruise. I am going back and forth deciding what to do for my next trip.

For some reason I cannot find anything that says "buy me"

I was even thinking of stepping outside the box again....if you recall

I did my first river cruise back in April. I LOVED IT:D.....I was thinking

about another one and then did a google search and found Windstar.....

those ships look fabulous too. Pricey but they look awesome......I posted

a thread over on the Windstar Forum...the folks who sail with them love

them;)

"Happy New Year" to you too Lois! That is fantastic news that your meds are working and you will be cruising soon! Have a great time on Reflection! Next up for me is a couple weeks in Hawaii with my husband, celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary (in April). We are including a 7-day Hawaii cruise (Pride of America) in the middle of our land vacation! Then, in August, I'll be sailing on Equinox with my other favorite travel companion, my mother-in-law! 2017 is shaping up to be a good year! Here's wishing you continued good health and smooth seas! :D
