Can Diamond Members go to front of the line for tenders

We're Elite on Princess and Diamond on RC. On Princess Elite members can go to the front of the line when you need to use a tender to get to shore. Does anyone know if Diamond members on RC have the same perk?

Regardless...I think it's a bit rude...wait your turn inline just like everyone else. The only time we've gotten advance tender tickets (and that was years ago at a certain port)...I wasn't comfortable waving my "Golden Ticket" and asking everyone to step aside :rolleyes:

It is a perk for suites. They pay for their perks. Depends on one's comfort level in using it.

If something is a designated benefit, one should not be ashamed of taking advantage of it. If someone has an issue with that, they should take it up with the cruise line not the person who is only getting what they were told they would.

What you may be able to do is get tender tickets from the Diamond concierge rather than having to stand in line for those tickets. The Diamond concierge on Explorer had tender tickets for one tender stop in New Zealand. I wish we'd have known this before standing in the tender ticket line.

Thanks! But considering that it isn't actually a Diamond benefit and the relative infrequency of tender ports, I doubt it will ever happen.

I don't see it listed, but on our last cruise (in June on Grandeur) we were given priority tender tickets in our stateroom the day before we reached Bar Harbor. We're D+, and were staying in an OV room. (Technically the panoramic OV room) There was no explanation for it, and we didn't ask for them. (We had a ship shore excursion planned anyway, so we just went off with the excursion).

Elite and Suite guests on Princess may join the line for tenders on deck without having to pick up a ticket and wait in the designated room but absolutely cannot cut to the front of the line. Asking the concierge to obtain a ticket for your preferred time is certainly the most sensible way for RCI to offer such a perk.

On Vision last year we met in the concierge lounge and were taken down and put on the first tender along with the early excursion people when we were at Grand Cayman. It is not a D perk, but it is for those eligible for the CL (D+, Pinnacle and Suite guests). I don't know if it's available at every tender port.

I've never used the perk on Princess nor would I on RC, was asking for information only. I thought this was a friendly forum, not one that is so critical just for asking a question.

Happened to us in Grand Cayman.....long line in the rain right before last call. A group of passengers waiving gold cards cut in front of the line. A fight between two female passengers broke out and had to be pushed apart by the crew of the tender.

 

If you want to make it a perk....have separate tenders.

This is exactly the way RCI will do it... the concierge will give you a ticket for a tender time (so you don't have to stand in line to get that ticket)...but they certainly won't tell you it's ok to just butt in line when it's time to line up for that tender...I've seen some that think it's their right to butt in line even when lined up at the pier to ride the tender back to the ship...it didn't take long for them to understand their status meant nothing.

Once everyone was assembled he escorted us down to the front of the line. And yes, there were lots of nasty remarks made by fellow passengers. If you want suite perks, then buy a suite. It is rude to heckle the suite guests for something to which they are entitled.

So glad they didn't see us on embarkation mornings leaving Chops after a nice breakfast, having the Concierge commandeer an elevator, and taking us to the head of the line to get off the ship!
