Wishing for Longer Cruises on Celebrity

We used to book almost exclusively with Celebrity since 1990's. However, over the last few years we have really enjoyed longer cruises (30plus days) on many other cruise lines like HAL, Princess and Cunard. The longest cruise we took with Celebrity was a back to back to back from Hong Kong to Vancouver ( 35 days) a few years ago. There are no long cruises posted now or in the future.

We really enjoy Celebrity, and are Elite plus with over 53 cruises on this line.

Please Celebrity, look into this and see if you can initiate longer cruise itineraries.

HAL and Princess have more ships than Celebrity does. The way to get longer cruises on Celebrity is to string two or more together as you did previously. I've done several B2Bs on Celebrity and one B2B2B.

We too like longer cruises so book B2B or B2B2B. Maybe when the new ships are in the fleet they will have some longer cruises.

That's all a longer cruise is, right, just a bunch of back to backs? I mean they sell as a complete cruise but people are getting on and off at the end of the "shorter" cruises.

 

My Mother-in-Law does this on HAL. Last cruise was almost 100 days.

Have to admit that when we want a long cruise (more then a month) we usually look towards HAL because they market many long cruises and book them as a single voyage. We have done back to backs on X but since most passengers are not on for more then one voyage it feels like two separate cruises. And Celebrity will repeat most of the entertainment and menus on back to backs. There is something special about boarding a ship for a 2 month cruise...and making lots of new friends among the other passengers who are also planning to be aboard for 2 months.

If Celebrity would publish a listing of the sequence of each ship, it would be easier to plan longer b2b2b cruises. Crystal does this.

Celebrity has no published discount for b2b. We almost always do b2b or more and periodically receive some OBC for traveling b2b from Celebrity.

We met two couples Autumn 2014 on the Hawaii to Sydney cruise. They were using Solstice and Millie as a hop on hop off cruise and land tour experience! Cruising 1,2 or three legs, then a land based stop then back on the cruise for another leg or two. I cannot remember their exact schedule but they certainly had land based stops in Australia and NZ a couple of stops in Asia and were away for in excess of three months...

 

Not a true cruise, but what a way to see the world! Also just as you were begining to become a little 'cruise overwhelmed' you would have a short break and maybe even a ship change! Yes, this sort of adventure takes a lot of planning and you haven't totally avoided luggage dragging and flights but a really clever way to look at cruising...one we had not considered until then.

 

Much as I love cruising I also love land based breaks....there are loads of Celebrity cruises starting in one place and finishing in another that really promote these experiences (example Millie Hong Kong to Singapore)...

Hi -

It definitely requires creativity to string together a B2B2B on Celebrity.

 

We definitely prefer Celebrity, like the original poster. Here are 2 to consider:

 

-- a B2B in South America, for example, take the last-of-the-season cruise departing from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso; then stay on the ship for another 14 days, go up the west coast of South America and return to the USA (this is usually marketed as a repositioning cruise).

or

--sail around Australia and New Zealand; this was a 60-day B2B2B2B that we took in Jan-Feb-Mar last year. Quite a few did this same itinerary in 2015.

 

Also look at Panama canal cruises to consider a cruise before/after that calls at different ports.

 

I agree with the other posters on this thread ... Celebrity is not going to offer a 105-day around the world journey. You are going to have to string it together yourself.

Thank you all for your responses. We have done many of the BtoB's that Celebrity offers. But like you said, it is one cruise followed by another, not a continuous cruise with the same passengers.

We will be leaving shortly on our first world cruise, 100 plus days on the Quern Elizabeth. We look forward to this experience, but will miss all of our Elite plus perks on Celebrity.

I booked a B2B2B with Celebrity directly and received the following extra. It was listed on the invoice as B2B discount

13 night $100

9 night $50

12 night $100

I later transfered to travel agency and kept these discounts. Also continued to monitor the cruises and was able to get lower prices

X gave B2B discount $100 off per cruise per cabin for the first time for booking Equinox between 4/24/17 -11/6/17 sailings. That was a special deal for pulling Equinox from Europe next year.
