Just back from Sensation. Got a bounceback in the cabin the last night. How do you know what cruises are available? If you call, what number do you call?

thanks

Definitely call your PVP. If you do not have one, you can call the number on the BB offer.

What is a bounce back?

On the last night of my cruise, when I got back to the cabin, there was a note/envelope with an offer for a free interior cabin. Limited sailings... must book within two weeks and sail within six months. Not all sailings are available... I only had three to choose in Feb. or two in March. I was told they will go fast. I also was told they release new dates every thurs. So, wondering if I pass this up, will there be something better when they post them again on thursday. Or will I miss out all together. I can't cruise again this year, vacay time is all used up.

Also, these do not appear in my VIFP offerings. I was told that they wouldn't, I would have to call to find out which sailings were available. I just hope I will be able to get one of these booked!

Buckeye..So very happy to hear you got your bounceback!

Just wondering if anybody has ever upgraded to a suite with their bounceback free interior offer and if so, which type of suite and how much was it to upgrade?

I had asked about upgrades on a couple of the sailings.. for oceanview it was 160pp total of like 403 for two with taxes. Balcony took it up to over 700. Kind of takes away the whole idea of a free cruise... but really not bad for two people... Only 350 including taxes each..

Went in July on Sunshine as a guest of a friend and it cost me $248 port charges for 8 days.

Had a great room location and got lots of perks throughout the cruise including Drinks on Us from Day 1 and comps to the alternative restaurants. (My friend is Diamond)

Although I did qualify for my own bounceback after that cruise due to points accumulated, I did not get the free cruise letter because I was already booked on Sunshine again for October 8.

I've gotten the letter on other cruises but wasn't able to travel on the dates that were listed as "FREE."

We've never received this offer. Does anyone know what rhyme or reason in who gets the letter? We are sailing on Sunshine a week from today!

Wonder if it's a kick back for over funding the casino, if that's the case I would be a bounce out :D

In my experience - if you earn 5,000 points or more in the casino you get a bounce-back offer in letter form the last night of the cruise. The casino manager tracks you down in the casino, or leaves it on your door mail holder. Usually the offer must be booked within 2 weeks of the letter's date, and you have to cruise within (if I remember it from last Feb.'s cruise) 4 or 5 months. I never remember having specific cruises I had to choose from - I could book any cruise I wanted, for a free interior cabin. (I always upgrade the offer to a balcony) They may have changed the way bouncebacks work, as I haven't cruised Carnival since last Feb.

My husband almost always gets a bounceback offer from the casino on the last night of our cruises. He plays a lot...but always ends up either up a few hundred up, or down not more than a couple hundred. But, throughout the cruise, there is a lot of money in play...so he scores a lot of points. We just got off of the Ecstasy on Thursday with another bounceback offer (PMB).

We had already researched future cruises that we'd like to take. We travel with our kids, so sometimes we use the free interior for two, and book a balcony or OV for 3 across the hall. Or sometimes we use the PMB as more of a "discount" offer, and book a room with all 5 of us crammed in together. This time, we found a cruise in December on the Elation that matches our school break dates. We booked a room for 5 using PMB. Ocean view room...and for all 5 of us it was $1200 out the door, including all taxes/fees. Not bad!

We tried looking at dates in February that match a school break we have then...but there were no cruises available at all that worked for us. It seems like maybe they use PMB to book out excess capacity on upcoming cruises, so I'm hoping we'll come off of our December cruise with a PMB offer, and that we'll be able to snag a February cruise then. Fingers crossed!

Oh, I almost forgot...usually we can't see the PMB bounceback offer online when he looks at his special offers. However, this time we could. We still booked through our PVP...I just prefer to book that way...but we could have done it online.

A few days after I returned home the offer was appearing on my VIFP offers. Not many to choose from, none in March but the 11 day Vista was available. You can also call your PVP if you want. Congrats and good luck!

Be sure and keep checking if you don't see one that works for you. Availability can change from minute to minute and the best choices sell out very quickly. For example on my bounce back in February of this year, I saw a Bermuda sailing available, but before I could even check airfare, it was gone; however, a day later I saw Alaska available and jumped on it before it was gone too. The moral of the story is if you see a cruise available in your bounce back offer that you're interested in, don't hesitate--book it. And if you don't see one immediately that you want, keep checking very frequently because availability can change quickly.

I'll be taking my second bounce back of 2016 in about 6 weeks.

You can also upgrade to a better room for very little money.

This is true. On my first bounce back free inside cabin offer this year I was able to book a balcony for $240 and ended up with a bowling alley balcony cabin. That was roughly a $1,000 discount per person for that Alaska sailing.

My bounce backs used to show online, but not anymore. My last one this year I had to call my PVP and ask for dates/ships.
