MinnesotaCruiser423 Posted October 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2016 I know platinum guests can go to guest services and be escorted down to the tender boat and skip the tender ticket process. My question is do platinum guests get escorted to gangway on non tender islands? The reason I ask is on our last cruise another platinum guest saw us waiting in line on the stairs (like we always do) and told us to follow them to guest services. We politely declined and off they went. We didn't see them again so I didn't get the chance to ask them about this. I have never heard of this on non tender islands. Has anybody else heard of this?

Schoifmom Posted October 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2016 No. There is no priority embarkation or debarkation at ports, other than debarkation at tender ports. Some people seem to think that their status or FTTF entitles them to skip all lines wherever they are, though.
cruzeluver Posted October 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2016 They do not and I hope it stays that way. I don't want to be patiently waiting to exit the ship at a docked port and have a bunch of Platinum folks line jump in front of me.

AdGuyMG Posted October 25, 2016 #8 Share Posted October 25, 2016 (edited) Do all Platinums wake up, eat breakfast, get changed and get off the ship at the same time? Edited October 25, 2016 by AdGuyMG
Rare jimbo5544 Posted October 26, 2016 #9 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Do all Platinums wake up, eat breakfast, get changed and get off the ship at the same time? It's a secret, we can't tell you. evandbob Posted October 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted October 26, 2016 No, an escort is not needed. I have never encountered a long hold up when getting off a port gangway. Maybe a few minutes in line before the ding machine, mostly due to new cruisers not have their S&S cards ready. I do recall some Carnival ships having a priority line for P&D's when getting back onto a ship at the end of the day, wouldn't mind seeing that custom return. At one point there was a priority line for coming back from tender ports but that has gone away

At HMC in the past D/P could return to the ship using their D/P status to avoid the long lines. This is no longer the case.
blyle Posted October 26, 2016 #13 Share Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) In August on the Breeze the line was horrible in all ports and wound around the entire deck and then down the stairs. With all the complaints I would not be surprised if they started escorting Platinum off as it should be a perk. skrufy Posted October 26, 2016 #14 Share Posted October 26, 2016 Im platinum and would not like platinums or diamonds escorted to the front of the line. Never had a long wait on line even though the line went down the Riveria deck hallway.

xbatt8 Posted October 26, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 26, 2016 An easy fix for long lines exiting to the pier... Have a separate line for people who don't want their picture taken 3 times on the gangway. Bob

Bob Or better yet, move the photographers away from the gangway so that the passengers could get off the ship quicker. Of course, most people would avoid the photographers altogether if they did that.

We usually see them both places as welll. However, they never held up the line on our Vista sailing. I don't know if it was a Europe cruise thing or what but it worked out great.
