RIP - Parmesan basket with fettuccine alfredo in MDR

You are 100% correct! Now I look forward to going to olive garden instead, lol.

 

We took our granddaughter to lunch at Olive Garden recently. We had the absolutely worst (almost tasteless) Fettuccine Alfredo we have ever experienced. I had eaten it there in the past and it was good but this time it was terrible.

Both my kids and I have mourned the loss of the Parmesan basket. :( It was delicious. Wish you could still get it. So many people loved it! I loved to pick at it when my kids ordered it. :)

 

It has joined the list of a number of other things that have disappeared from Princess:

 

o Welcome aboard cookies in your stateroom

o Chocolate pops at the Champagne Waterfall

o Godiva chocolate on the Love Boat Dream dessert

o Sesame seeds on the dining room bread sticks

o Chocolate covered strawberries for Elites on formal evenings

o Canapes at the Captain's Circle repeat passenger gettogether

We haven't sailed since last February but I didn't know (and am sad to find out) about the chocolate pops or the canapes (although the line was so long for the repeat passenger party that we skipped it).

I still write in chocolate strawberries on the form for Elite in-room canapes and every so often get them. ;)

 

I had actually forgotten about those welcome aboard cookies. :(

 

I love the Parmesan basket and am sad to see it go.

We'll be on the Pacific next week and I'll report back whether I can get it .

Just off Caribbean Princess and was able to order it the day before for next day. We thought we would try after all good reviews, however we found it to be very rubbery. Suspect the issue is change in cheese quality.

They did not have them on the CB this spring. We were told they were being eliminated fleetwide because too many of them were left uneaten.

 

Like everything else Princess, it will vary from ship to ship, and the only thing consistent about their plans is that they are inconsistent. I'm sure the same can be said for the cheese bowl.

Sad to see the Chocolate pops gone as well.

 

Princess don't follow the trends and cheap out stay on top and keep your fidèle crowd happy :-)

They're not gone on the Royal, just relocated to a different time & place.

Horizon buffet, dessert section, mid afternoon. ;)
