riandei Posted November 11, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 11, 2016 I got an email this morning for a discount on anything pre purchased for our up coming cruise. did anyone else get ? i am wondering if there is a way to use this toward upgrading the bev package to Premium ??? thanks
Janet524 Posted November 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Haven't received anything regarding any discounts. What date and ship are your cruising? Perhaps it's only for specific ships/sailings.
DaisyFire Posted November 11, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2016 I received this and was wondering the same thing. The website reflects the 20% sale on the various purchase pages (except for spa because you have to call to book/get prices). And, unfortunately, specialty dining is not part of the 'sale' :( The discounted premium rate is $52 - which is less than the standard classic rate (before sale) of $54 - so it would be great if you could purchase the premium at $52 and have the $54 credit applied for the classic package you already have on your receipt - thus costing you nothing (and dare I hope even getting you a $2 per day credit!?) Alas - I doubt it would work that way. They will likely use the current classic sale rate when calculating the upgrade price - so you would pay $8 per day vs $11 - a savings of $3 per day. Either way, I would call Celebrity to make the purchase/inquiry as I doubt the web interface is set up to handle this.
DaisyFire Posted November 11, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Anyone know what the Unlimited Internet prices typically is for a 14 night cruise? The site is showing $255 as the rate after 20% discount - but is not showing the original price. By my calculations There is no whole number that you can take 20% off and get $255. $319 at 20% off is $255.20 - so perhaps they rounded down? jelayne Posted November 11, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 11, 2016 If you purchased the Classic package you can go on line and canx your purchase, then you can purchase the premium at the discounted rate.
grandgeezer Posted November 11, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 11, 2016 I didn't get the e-mail, but I went to my cruises in December and the 20% off, for either package, showed up. The problem is, most people received the Classic package as part of a promotion so I don't know what you could do to upgrade to the Premium package beside paying the $11.80 p.p. per day. sandc4e Posted November 11, 2016 #14 Share Posted November 11, 2016 It's in my cruise planner for our April 16th cruise on Silhouette. Up to 20% of some excursions and some spa services.
jelayne Posted November 11, 2016 #15 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Does anyone know if your Captain's Club discount is added to the 20% off or is it instead of? Nope, can't get both discounts; I asked.
Algebralovr Posted November 11, 2016 #16 Share Posted November 11, 2016 I'm just bummed the photo package isn't good for my Dec 2017 cruise. I'm taking the kids and will buy the photo packages for that one. I'll happily let them sit on my money for the next year! Sadly, you can only buy through April 2017. jelayne Posted November 11, 2016 #17 Share Posted November 11, 2016 No discounts on anything for our Feburary, 2017 cruises. Booked under 1,2,3 Go but a discount on Internet would have been nice.
Iamthesea Posted November 11, 2016 #18 Share Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) We also received the email. However, with already receiving the Classic Package and having a lot of OBC, we do not want to book before the cruise. cruisintex85 Posted November 11, 2016 #19 Share Posted November 11, 2016 How do you pre-purchase a photo package? I can't find it on the cruise planner.
cruzzzinma Posted November 11, 2016 #20 Share Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Thanks to the OP and other posters. 20 percent on a beverage package for an April Transatlantic is a good thing! Edited November 11, 2016 by cruzzzinma
Grandmaanne7 Posted November 11, 2016 #21 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Nope, can't get both discounts; I asked. Thanks for that info. No discounts on anything for our Feburary, 2017 cruises. Booked under 1,2,3 Go but a discount on Internet would have been nice. We booked under the 123 Go promotion and the 20% discount is available under our booking for February 2017. Seems odd that some sailings would be applicable and others not.

Tedferg Posted November 11, 2016 #23 Share Posted November 11, 2016 I called Celebrity and there is no way to use the 20% discount to upgrade a Classic Perk to Premium. :-( The excursions look interesting, might take advantage of that.
Luvcrusn Posted November 11, 2016 #24 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Nope, can't get both discounts; I asked. I booked a discounted unlimited package on embarkation day of my Connie Caribbean cruise last Feb. I was able to use my Captains Club discount with it and used my OBC. Going to hope that it's available again in Dec. on Eclipse. Had to go to internet café to get it.
downsmead Posted November 11, 2016 #25 Share Posted November 11, 2016 Either it is not available in the UK, or it is not available on our Alaska sailing. I suspect it is the first one 🙄☹️😒
