blkjac Posted November 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2016 We are going on the Rhapsody Dec. 31st for a 8 day cruise. We are Diamond and we need one more cruise day to be Diamond Plus. I know we are eligible to go to the Dia. Lounge but was wondering if after the one day onboard we would be able to go to the concierge lounge. Rare BecciBoo Posted November 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2016 No...your sea pass will not reflect your new statis until you have completed the cruise..so you can't go in there. :o

I haven't read your replies, but I already know the answer is no, and you have been told, but we can't let the thread stop there. Part of being Diamond is doing what you want when you want and having things your own way. (A stereotype with just enough real examples to make it relatable.) In the Diamond section of the Friends of Cruise Critic I related my first experience with a Diamond like that. On my last cruise they had a Diamond breakfast in the MDR I was amused to see a guy walk in and say, " I just became Diamond after last night", and push his way into the dining room. Nobody wanted to challenge him over a breakfast and that was that. However, the Lounge will probably have more security and adherence to the rules. At least I think it will based on how hard it was to get my wife into the Diamond Club when Royal accidentally had her status wrong on our Oasis cruise. Rare A&L_Ont Posted November 30, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Going to talk to concierge anyhow. In all honesty if being D+ matters so/that much, is it possible to do a 3-4 day cruise before your next one? Rare BillOh Posted November 30, 2016 #9 Share Posted November 30, 2016 We moved up to diamond plus on a cruise and got a new card so we could use the concierge lounge. Just ask Sent from my iPad using Forums Having no real experience, I'd be curious to see how that works. I do know the concierge has the ability to reprint cards. We had to have the Diamond Concierge do so on Oasis last May.

And it's not the end of the world but the concierge club is quite nice and definitely not as crowded. Edited November 30, 2016 by blkjac
Rare John&LaLa Posted November 30, 2016 #11 Share Posted November 30, 2016 (edited) Going to talk to concierge anyhow. 🙄 From the Website. What are Cruise Points and why do they matter? Cruise Points are the "Points" that determine your status in the Crown & Anchor Society. Different cruise situations earn different Cruise Point amounts. For instance, if you are a Crown & Anchor Society member and you complete a 12-night cruise or longer, you could be eligible for 12 Cruise Points. Each non-discounted cruise typically earns 1 Cruise Point per Night you complete on the ship, although other terms and conditions apply. Points are not recorded or applied until after you complete your sailing. For example, if you are graduating from Gold to Platinum tier level on your current sailing, you will not receive Platinum level benefits until your next sailing. This also applies in going from Diamond to Diamond Plus. However, I have been led to believe that Pinnacle is attained during the cruise. :D Edited November 30, 2016 by John&LaLa
Rare island lady Posted November 30, 2016 #12 Share Posted November 30, 2016 At each level...I just looked at it this way....it makes the next cruise that I am officially at that level just that much sweeter! And a good excuse to book another one right away!! :D Would never consider asking the concierge to bend the stated rules. No need to make them feel uncomfortable. They have enough to deal with. Do you cruise for status or cruise to have fun!!!! Troykahack, what's wrong with status? I cruise because I love cruising but if something is offered why not take advantage of it. I also get a casino rate when I book. Should I turn that down also. When you book a cruise if an onboard credit is offered do you turn it down? Don't try dropping one of those on your foot!! Friends dropped one of theirs on the tile floor and it shattered into pieces! Another bit of misinformation by you know who. ;) And I am totally with you. If I am offered freebies because I cruise a lot...why not take full advantage. I use frequent flyer miles also. :) Edited December 5, 2016 by island lady

troykahack Posted December 5, 2016 #21 Share Posted December 5, 2016 (edited) But the rules say..... the people with Status are so very tight to fight for dress code and other things.... John posted the rules... you become D+ after your cruise... if you are going to ask for a exception then quit complaining about shorts here, this here, and that... If it doesn't apply to you, don't get offended... Maybe we should take all our friends into the DL/CL?? What is the difference. I have no problem with status... but love the status debates Edited December 5, 2016 by troykahack

Rare John&LaLa Posted December 5, 2016 #23 Share Posted December 5, 2016 I also know this is possible even when you become Pinnacle!!!! No I am not. Pretty sure Pinnacle is the only level that you earn while onboard. I'll actually be able to verify this next week. The part I am unsure about is weather or not you have the new status for the entire voyage, even if you don't hit 700 until several days in. It may be up to the ships management.
