Curling Iron

It depends. Some allow curling irons some don't. If not what usually happens is they are taken off I you and you collect them when you leave. There won't be anything on the room except for a hairdryer.

There are 2 reasons for not. The ship runs off different power supply than on land which your curling irons can blow fuse/trip circuit breakers for your section 2. Danger of fire, which is a very serious concern at sea.

Yes...you may bring curling irons, electric curlers, hot rollers, straightening irons, ....whatever hair appliance you want, including hair dryer! I know of NO cruise line that won't let women bring their hair stuff!

Women would NOT cruise if they couldn't fix their hair!

There are US and European style plugs.

I know I read that you can't take anything that involves heat, but if you can't take a curling Iron, is there one in the cabin? If not, are you allowed to take one?

I would also ask this in the forum dedicated to the cruise line you intend to sail with. That looks to be Princess, which would be here:

Not necessarily true with every cruise line. This should be checked specifically with the cruise line on which you are sailing.

Every cruise line has a web page where you can find the answers to these questions. It's usually under the frequently asked questions. For Princess, it's under "What to Pack".

If you get stuck, use your good friend, google, which most often pulls up the answer in a second or two.

Wife has always taken her hair straightener without issue.

Not sure why she bothers, two seconds of sea air and poof curls all over the place:D:D

While many cruise lines have a banned list, most do not mention curling irons or hair straighteners

X does but as a note in the prohibited items list to say - NOTE: The only exception to this policy are curling irons and hair straighteners. Which means you can bring them.
