Cruiser_1977 Posted June 28, 2018 #676 Share Posted June 28, 2018 Question: I have both "points" and "cash". Can I use them in conjunction with each other or does use of my points deplete the cash? Not sure if it's an either/or situation or both. For a $100 GC it'll be $90 and 1,000 points.
Organized Chaos Posted June 28, 2018 #677 Share Posted June 28, 2018 I wish they would change it so only people who actually have Allstate insurance could have access to the cards. It ruins it for those of us who actually use AllstateI seriously doubt non-customers have a dramatic affect on the availability of Carnival gift cards. Question: I have both "points" and "cash". Can I use them in conjunction with each other or does use of my points deplete the cash? Not sure if it's an either/or situation or both.Does the "cash" you're referring to have something to do with being an actual Allstate customer? Because as non-customers, all we can do is earn points. Then we cash in those points to buy the discounted cards. 1,000 pts. for a $100 card and 5,000 pts. for a $500 card. In that case, I'll assume they work separately. Apparently, I can use the $ towards a purchase (I think now in conjunction with points), or I can cash it out and they'll send me a check. I guess I'll use it towards my GCs. I'm psyched b/c there's over $100 in there! :)

aggieamy55 Posted July 1, 2018 #681 Share Posted July 1, 2018 I'm sorry if this has already been answered. I tried to briefly go back and look on this thread, but can you this Carnival Allstate giftcards for onboard credit once you pay off your actual cruise balance? If so, how does that work exactly? Can you get the gift cards applied for onboard credit prior to sailing or would you have to wait and go to guest services once aboard the ship? Thank you. Thank you.Just in case you didn't know, in addition to paying for the cruise itself, the gift cards can be used for just about everything else. On board credit, purchasing Cheers/Bottomless Bubble packages, internet plans, excursions, things from the online Fun Shops, etc. etc. To apply them to your S&S account as on board credit, you have to wait until you get on board. You can do it at Guest Services or from one of the self-serve kiosks. With the physical gift cards, obviously you just take those along. With the emailed gift cards, just print it out and make sure you include the card number and the PIN. The only option to do this before your cruise is to use the gift cards to pre-purchase Cruise Cash from the online Fun Shops. Cruise Cash will appear on your S&S account as soon as you're on board. Just keep in mind that Cruise Cash is non-refundable. Use it or lose it. The workaround to not losing any leftover Cruise Cash is to play a couple spins on a slot machine, then cash out at the casino cashier.

Organized Chaos Posted July 2, 2018 #686 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Thank you for much for this info. We downloaded the app and have already earned a ton of points. I had no idea about this until this morning since I haven't cruised on Carnival since college... :)You're welcome. Now let me tell you about the AARP gift cards. LOL Seriously though, AARP does the same thing, if you didn't already know. You don't have to be a member of AARP, just need to create a free account with their Rewards For Good program. You earn points through email codes, just like here, but also by taking quizzes on their website. There's a few threads about that one too. AARP has the eCards much more often than Allstate. Those are emailed to you immediately after buying them, so you don't have to pay shipping, wait for them to arrive, or sign for large denominations. And at the risk of veering away from the topic of this thread even more than I already have, back in May, a digital gift card vendor owned by PayPal sold Carnival cards on ebay for 15% off. They did it twice, a few days apart, and there's always hope that they do it again. For that, you had to have a PayPal account, but those are free to create too. OK, now back to our regularly scheduled thread. Sorry for the slight interruption everyone.

Cld2017 Posted July 3, 2018 #691 Share Posted July 3, 2018 I am so afraid to buy $900 dollars worth of gift cards and then Carnival not accepting them when I try to pay for my drink package on line. My cruise and tips are already paid in full. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hi there, I want to do the same. Were you able to buy the drink package online with these e-gift cards? Rare Saint Greg Posted July 3, 2018 #692 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Hi there, I want to do the same. Were you able to buy the drink package online with these e-gift cards? Yes. I’ve done it for my last 4-5 cruises and my next two cruises. I pay for everything with them. The cruise, cheers, internet, gratuities...everything. ksmcdonald Posted July 3, 2018 #693 Share Posted July 3, 2018 Hi there, I want to do the same. Were you able to buy the drink package online with these e-gift cards? I did buy them and everything worked out fine. Since then I’ve bought another $800 and no problem. First time was e-certificates, second time actual cards through the mail. No problem at all.
