Rare island lady Posted April 27, 2017 #26 Share Posted April 27, 2017 I think the concierge in the CL can do more. He/she has the key to bypass all the floors on the ship to deck 1 to get off the ship. Also no waiting in line for self-departure, wait in CL then when ship is cleared, zip zip, you are one of the first off. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app ONLY if you are suite guests will the CL concierge do that. Spent most of our time in the CL on Serenade last February as D+ guests, but were not in a full suite. My sister was full suite and got the escort off the ship, we were not invited. Rare island lady Posted April 27, 2017 #27 Share Posted April 27, 2017 They won't. They won't have anyone to brag to if it's Pinnacles only.[emoji5] Sent from my STV100-1 using Forums mobile app LOL!! If everyone in the room is special...then no one is special I guess.

It often depends on the Concierge. I have been in a non-suite room and invited to be escorted off the ship with the Suites. I agree, though, that this is a suites perk and so it could be that the Concierge would limit that perk to suites only. I know that the time that Carlos invited us to join the Suites on disembark he did ask us to "keep it quiet" so it was obviously something he did as a favor and not a routine practice. Inconsistency through out the ships and concierges are the only thing consistent in the RCI fleet. ;) I could have asked to join my sister (and probably would have been granted that request) but I would have felt like I would be adding to the "special requests" they already have to deal with so much. sergeant655 Posted April 28, 2017 Author #33 Share Posted April 28, 2017 Is that a temporary thing or is there overflow outside of DL as well? It is only for this sailing due to high number of diamonds and above some voyager and freedom class ships use the Viking crown lounge as the overflow

Blizzard54 Posted April 30, 2017 #36 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Origin of the PCL. On the first night of the April 2016 Transpacific from Sydney to Seattle on the Explorer the Star Lounge was used for the evening event instead of the DL. With about 850 D/D+ and 53 PC's, it was crowded. I suspect there was a few complaints. The Diamond Concierge for the voyage was Juan Diego (JD). The second night there was a new sign posted in front of the Connoisseurs Lounge. (cigar lounge) Since the ship had been sailing from Australia for several months the lounge had not been used and there was not a residual oder. Within a few days, most of the PC's had moved back to the Star Lounge but there were a few that seemed to stay in their own world.
Biker19 Posted April 30, 2017 #37 Share Posted April 30, 2017 I'm puzzled - don't all the experienced D and up cruisers realize how over run by high level C&A folks these TP and TAs are and yet they still book them? Is it the bargain pricing?
Rare Lionesss Posted April 30, 2017 #38 Share Posted April 30, 2017 There's no difference between the perks offered by CL and DL, just who has access. The Suite Lounge on Oasis class adds free soda and selected wines and beers from 11am to 11pm. But the suite lounge on the Allure has wine and other soft drinks from 11am-11pm. The diamond lounge did not, just during happy hour..... Is this something new in the no difference? Just wondering. We are D and in a Suite. Safe travels. Is this something new in the no difference? Just wondering. We are D and in a Suite. Safe travels. The Oasis class Suite Lounges have had the beverages available from 11am to 11pm ever since they were created during the last dry dock. There is still no difference between the perks in the Concierge Lounge (remember, there is no longer a CL on Oasis cvlass ships) and Diamond Lounge. Is it the bargain pricing? The prices are part of it. The desire for longer cruises is another factor. With the TPs and TAs you can also add before and after to extend the length without repeating too many ports.
Hogbay Posted April 30, 2017 #42 Share Posted April 30, 2017 CL always has kids jumping around for the first few days ,then the smart parents realize they should take them to the kc ( kids club ) as no one will speak to them anyway:D

Is it the bargain pricing? The number of P's, D+'s, D's, E's, and G's never enters my mind when I book something. I have learned to enjoy the 3 freebies on my SeaPass card more and more the last few cruises. Even with a moderate number of upper C&A's, the lounges are too crowded form 4:30 - 6, the time you normally go if you have early dining. If I had the time, I would book the spring TP -- even if the ship is all P's. Awesome itinerary. mac_tlc

legaljen1969 Posted April 30, 2017 #45 Share Posted April 30, 2017 ....it would make sense to give it to Ps - after a good cleaning to get the smell out. Yep. It would definitely need some renovation. LOL
legaljen1969 Posted April 30, 2017 #46 Share Posted April 30, 2017 I can only imagine that more changes "could" be coming --- That being said, I wonder if the suite lounge would become just that and then another benefit that the Pinnacles have earned would be taken away....... I do hope it was because a large number of the Loyal Royals were on this sailing and not new changes. Safe travels Well, if the Pinnacles got their very own lounge, it doesn't seem to me that they have lost anything if they lose the "suite" lounge. I am a lowly Platinum still- with bucket list aspirations to be Pinnacle one day. My current goal is just to get through Emerald to reach Diamond. I am not knocking Pinnacles, but I just don't know what benefits they have had and lost in the past (or ones they have gotten and may lose in the near future). Biker19 Posted April 30, 2017 #47 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Then they became popular and pricing went up. Compared to what? - TAs and TP have some of the lowest per day rates of any cruise (excluding some of the routes via Iceland).
legaljen1969 Posted April 30, 2017 #48 Share Posted April 30, 2017 This happened on the Harmony transatlantic last fall, on a purely temporary basis. Dazzles was used during cocktail hours for Pinnacles. There were 194 on this voyage. :o 194 Pinnacles on one particular voyage? WOW. That's a lot . I would definitely be impressed to see them all together. I am sure I could find the answer somewhere, but does anyone on this thread know how many Pinnacles there are total right now? Was it a loyalty cruise or something?
Biker19 Posted April 30, 2017 #49 Share Posted April 30, 2017 Was it a loyalty cruise or something? No, just a rare Oasis class TA (which won't be so rare anymore) combined with low initial pricing and lots of attention for some reason.

No loyalty cruise, lot of these longer TA/TP cruises have many upper tier and this one had the new Harmony... Royal doesn't release total number of Upper tier totals...
