Biker19 Posted December 8, 2017 #51 Share Posted December 8, 2017 I'm not that technically inclined. You can install an app called SpeedTest (or any other internet speed measuring app) and it will give you 3 numbers: ping, download speed and upload speed. You wish you could have a connection capable of 150 Mbps - at best for Stream you should get around 4 Mbps. Any ping around 200 means they installed O3B, anything over 600 means they probably didn't. Clarea Posted December 8, 2017 #52 Share Posted December 8, 2017 I'm not that technically inclined. Spoiled last 20 yrs as my Son designs computer games and builds computers so rely on him. It's pouring rain, even TV signal has been in/out this afternoon, not sure if it effects internet signal too as it seems to be running slower right now then last few days. At moment my speed says currently running at 150 Mbps with signal quality at 3 bars of 5. Try going to speedtest.net with your browser.
p598738 Posted January 31, 2018 #53 Share Posted January 31, 2018 I'm going to buy the Serenade fjord cruise for May 6. It looks like the daily high in Norway will be 60 to 65 during the cruise. Do the readers think the extra $1000 for a veranda (vs spacious ocean view) is worth it with these temps ?? Thanks.
mworkman Posted February 1, 2018 #54 Share Posted February 1, 2018 Can you do a speed test and post the ping number - that will determine if it was installed? They didn't..same ole slow speed.
DShock Posted February 15, 2018 #55 Share Posted February 15, 2018 My TA told us that all the Suites were completely redone, carpet, furniture, mattresses, and even deck furniture but I can't find any confirmation on that. Can anyone validate what my TA said?
Crazy Canuck Cruiser Posted November 4, 2021 #56 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Is the Serenade having upgrades in 2022 in anticipation of its 2023 World Cruise? I see there is no Panama Canal cruise scheduled after its last Tampa cruise March 5 with the next published cruise being L.A. to Vancouver on April 26th. That is more than 6 weeks (including two it would take to get to L.A.) after its last disembarkation in Tampa.

Ashland Posted November 4, 2021 #58 Share Posted November 4, 2021 I wonder when in 2022 they'll do this? We're on Serenade Sept 2022 Alaska & Oct 2022 Panama Canal full transit.

Given what they are charging for the WC hopefully they include some big changes.
Nado44 Posted November 4, 2021 #60 Share Posted November 4, 2021 Disembarked RCL Serenade earlier today. 5 nights to Nassau/CocoCay from Tampa. We were in a JS on Deck 10. The ship looks tired and is in need of updating. Public areas and staterooms require refreshes. Extensive rust in the overhangs, numerous missing balcony rails and poor smoke ventilation in the casino are some of the other issues that come to mind. With all of that said, I was told by a member of the crew that the Serenade will be the largest ship in service doing a world cruise. And that the sailing would represent a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those who embark.

This included paint/trim, removing some wood railings, sanding/Staining and returning them the following week doing next set. One yr they replaced all Balcony Chairs, the next was Mattresses, this on turn around day with all Cabins on that whole Deck. Many think lot this stuff is done only at Dry Dock, seen this not happen, one yr they were doing this stuff After Marine Side Dry Dock... First sailing since we got off on March 14 2020. The last cruise. 😞 Do you know if they offer Mimosas on Sea Days at about noon hour in the Casino Bar? Just wondering since we are D+ if I want to use one of the vouchers. Thanks Mike

ONECRUISER Posted November 5, 2021 #70 Share Posted November 5, 2021 (edited) As said past they do this type touch-up while in reg service in Florida. This done every Nov/Dec while I was on her 2015-2019. Can see they are working on Railings below and do this week by week. Even after her last Dry Dock they waited until she returned reg Cruises do this and paint touch-up. They'd come in Cabin's on a Port Day when most were ashore and some work on turn around Day on my B5B's. Sure Covid shutdown with only 100+ Crew onboard put them behind not doing any Maint in last 18 months. Agree though it looks terrible right now. Was Booked on Serenade supposed be on her now Oct-Dec but switched and on Jewel in 2 wks threw Xmas Edited November 5, 2021 by ONECRUISER
