NCruiser2012 Posted May 14, 2017 #51 Share Posted May 14, 2017 We were on the Epic and overlooked a large balcony cabin. I don't know how many people were in this cabin, but it seemed like we saw a different group every time we looked out. They threw all their suitcases out on the balcony along with their clothes and what looked like expensive high-heeled shoes. It rained several times on this trip and everything got wet. They even threw trash out there. By the end of the cruise, the balcony was knee deep in stuff. I am surprised the steward did not alert the ship management. Weird! It did not appear to be a group of people partying. The group appeared to be a family group with several generations of people aboard.
NMLady Posted May 14, 2017 #52 Share Posted May 14, 2017 During lunch at open seating a couple were sharing the table with us and the woman kept taking bread from the bread basket and tearing it apart and eating a tiny piece and then putting all the larger pieces on MY bread plate. When the server took the plates away it looked like I had wasted all the bread. I didn't say anything the first time but we were unlucky and had them at a table again later in the cruise. When she did the same thing, I put the bread on her plate and asked her to please use her own plate. After that, a couple that shared the table the second time used to meet us at lunch and we got a table for 4 of us so we wouldn't have to sit with that woman again. She probably did not realize she was using the wrong bread plate. Many people are confused by that setting.
BuckeyeFan03 Posted May 14, 2017 #53 Share Posted May 14, 2017 On our recent cruise on the Getaway, there was a couple, I'd guess them to be in their early 40s, who took small stuffed bears with them everywhere. I saw the bears sitting out by the pool, pretending to eat at Savor, greeting the captain at the Latitudes party, etc. My parents overheard them tell someone that the bears were over 20 years old and had recently gotten new shirts for this cruise.
DMH15 Posted May 14, 2017 #54 Share Posted May 14, 2017 On our Jewel transatlantic cruise we played trivia and each days winner would receive the trophy until the next day. It looked like a loving cup. Well my mom carried it with her everywhere and someone came up to her and asked her if that was somebody's ashes. And she dead pan looked at them and said it's my husband he always wanted to go on this cruise. Sent from my iPhone using Forums 4

BuckeyeFan03 Posted May 15, 2017 #58 Share Posted May 15, 2017 Careful these people might be regular posters on Cruise Critic..... They very well may be. I didn't say anything bad about them, only that it was an unusual practice that caught my eye.
tgirl25 Posted May 15, 2017 #59 Share Posted May 15, 2017 On the Epic, December 2016. While sitting at the bar, an announcement was made on the PA system: "Code Alpha" I asked the bartender what that meant, and he said a medical emergency... Fast forward about an hour, I was going back to the Solo Cabin area, and there were several security guards outside the cabin a few doors down from mine. The next morning there was red tape over the door to the cabin where the security guards were the previous night. I asked my cabin steward what happened, and he would only say there was a "medical emergency" Later that day, there was red tape on the cabin across the hall from where the original "incident" happened. Now I knew there was something more serious going on. These two cabins would remain taped off for the remainder of the cruise. I later found out from another passenger that they found a dead body in the first cabin, and in the second cabin, the perpetrator. I wonder how often this happens? I was on the Epic Feb 4-11 cruise and we also had someone die of suspicious circumstances with a room on the 13th floor taped off. Maybe it is all the booze from the UBP making everyone crazy! mugtech Posted May 15, 2017 #60 Share Posted May 15, 2017 You're saying there was a murder aboard Norwegian Epic last December? There was a murder on the Gem last November, fortunately Second City solved it over lunch.

I was on the Epic Feb 4-11 cruise and we also had someone die of suspicious circumstances with a room on the 13th floor taped off. It's not rare for people die on board, and I think it's standard procedure to tape off the stateroom (if it happens there). Doesn't necessarily mean there are suspicious circumstances, but I guess any death at sea counts as "unusual" circumstances and the authorities need to be called in to check things out. (Also to protect the cruise line.)
sjbdtz Posted May 15, 2017 #62 Share Posted May 15, 2017 One one of the balconies, an older gentleman was wearing nothing but a Borat style, bright green, over the shoulder speedo-type contraption. We was gyrating his hips and doing his best to call attention to himself. Fortunately, we had our phones on us and snapped a few pics for posterity...and so that we didn't sound crazy when trying to explain what we had seen! Edited: I just zoomed into the photo and noticed that the balcony divider is open between their balcony and the balcony next door and that there is another woman with what looks to be a video camera! [emoji50] Wouldn't it only have been for posterity....if he had turned around???:o:') 1

DMH15 Posted May 18, 2017 #71 Share Posted May 18, 2017 OK here is another… On my second cruise on the sun we ran into friends we have cruised with on the sun and played trivia before it was a wonderful reunion we had many meals with them and one night we went to the main dining room and we wanted to sit at a table by the window. They said that it was a table for eight and they would have to see others with us if we didn't mind… We said that was OK they put us with an older couple and the man was very dignified from like Egypt and the woman who look like your grandmother from Iowa. I asked how they met and she went into the explanation of how they went out on their first date how he swept her off her feet in bed. It was very graphic. Before any of us could say anything our ears were burning. It was the most bizarre experience. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
AIRBUSDRIVER Posted May 18, 2017 #72 Share Posted May 18, 2017 On the Dawn in Feb 14-21, 2016. Sitting in Irish Pub with a group of friends for cocktails. A fellow that I made friends with at the poker table showed up with a pretty lady he had just met and introduced her. I asked if she would like to order a drink and she informed us that she didn't have the UBP. I offered to buy her a drink and she proceeded to take off her top and grabbed her rather LARGE artificial breasts and said "these get me all the drinks I ever need" Our group howled with laughter but shortly turned to embarrassment as she refused to put her puppies away. We finally got up and left to find another bar with my friend and left her in the lounge (bare breasted) to face the music. Turns out she was well known on the ship for baring her "new" assets...
Rare sprint180 Posted May 18, 2017 #73 Share Posted May 18, 2017 On my last cruise on the jade, one day we saw 2 adults walking around in full length panda costumes (including a mask). They were walking around on desk asking people if they wanted to take selfies with them. I think they were passengers, not crew, since there was no photographer with them or any kind of escort like places with those types of costumes usually do. The idea that two adult passengers thought to bring large panda costumes with them weirded us out and we declined the pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Amazes me how desperate for attention some people are.
spanishguy1970 Posted May 18, 2017 #74 Share Posted May 18, 2017 Honestly, I think is weird the people who paid for a vacation and when they get on board is constant bitchin, the food is too cold, the line is too long, the show is not good, the pool is too small, i can go on and on...stay home and you will have things they way you want them  unless some things merit for you to complain about relax and enjoy you are on vacation.:-)
