Thanks for that info. Very interesting . Nearly 2/3rds are doing the whole cruise.

No doubt they feel the city can still cater for them and can use the tourist dollars. I suppose some tours would not be affected to badly.

 

There was a lady buying lots of things at Vinnies Op Shop, who told me she was taking her purchases to Sri Lanka for flood victims.. She didn't think the flooding would cause the ship to not call at Colombo, as landslides and flooding were to the south and in the country. Small world.

Another statistic from last night was that 79% are Aussies and Kiwi's make up 17%.

 

The Captain will be making an announcement soon about our possible late arrival into Colombo. Will post any info.

Wow, that is a high average age.

I am somewhat surprised that only 3% of pax were not Aussies or Kiwis.

Arrived to a sunny day with a short afternoon rain event. Now sunny with scattered clouds. We had a great curry lunch on banana leaf. I also got to try buffalo curd, a bit like yought. Very nice if you get a chance.

While Sea Princess is on her way through "Pirate Alley" to Aquaba, here is a shot from Majestic Princess giving us a different look at Colombo. Majestic is on her way to Asia . Its a different aspect to to the City from when Sea was there last week.

Just checked on Marine Traffic AIS and they have begun the transit...local time 5 am ,so they will have a daylight transit.

You would not want to go all that way and then go through at night....;)

You can see the convoy lining up behind them.

Thanks David. I hope they have nice weather. I just finished reading a World Cruise blog on P&O's Aurora which had thick fog at the beginning of their transit.
