Jetsgo Posted May 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2017 Now that we can count the number of days until we land in CPH on two hands...! Looking for recommendations on some of your favorite restaurants in Copenhagen to enjoy lunch and dinner at? We'll be staying at Scandic Copenhagen so preferably in that vicinity. Any type of food is okay with us if it's good enough, but some local dishes and beers would be ideal.

lynncarol Posted May 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Last September we were given directions by locals to Christianshavns Faegecafe, which has been around for over 150 years and overlooks a small canal. It is located on Strandgade 50, and you turn to your right just before crossing the bridge to Paper Island. My husband and I were the only non-locals at this small restaurant and the food was quite reasonable (for Copenhagen) and absolutely delicious. happy_travellers Posted May 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Last time in Copenhagen we've been to Færgekroen Bryghus in Tivoli Garden - it was pretty good. I liked food, beer and nice water view from the terrace. Very cozy;) Agree, we had anniversary dinner there 3 years ago it was very nice.
Brandy14 Posted June 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2017 We just went to The Olive Kitchen & Bar. It was tremendous & felt much more local than anywhere in Nyhavn or Tivoli. It was a short walk for us & they could not have been nicer. I would recommend reservations though as it is a small place & was completely booked the night we were there. We almost went back the next night because it was so great! Sent from my iPad using Forums
Jetsgo Posted June 2, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Thank you everyone for the suggestions so far. I certainly have a lot to follow up on. Is this really necessary or will we be okay walking in?
dogs4fun Posted June 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 2, 2017 I love Groften for dinner - in Tivoli Gardens when it is lit at night.
Danish viking Posted June 2, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Grøften in Tivoli is gooooood, and so is Færgekroen (the ferry inn).
akeogh Posted July 14, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Do you pay to enter Tivoli in order to eat at Groften?
Danish viking Posted July 14, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Yes but as others have mentioned its free to enter Tivoli if you have the Copenhagen Card.
MDTrip Posted August 22, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 22, 2017 Danish Viking - Are all the restaurants in Tivoli as expensive as Groften for dinner? We want to sit down (not fast food or take-away) but something that costs less than Groften. Is this possible? What do you recommend? Thank you for your help. Danish viking Posted August 23, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 23, 2017 Færgekroen should be a little bit cheaper. But dining in Tivoli is not amongst the cheapest thing to do in Copenhagen :) If you go to Tivoli's website you can search on restaurants after price category. Quasar1011 Posted October 19, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Do most of the hotels have restaurants? Looking to stay 3 nights in Copenhagen before the cruise, first night (Friday) will have jet lag and might not feel like going out too far! Haven't decided on a hotel yet. poss Posted May 2, 2018 #16 Share Posted May 2, 2018 I'm hoping for quiet and relaxing restaurant recommendations within 15 min. walk from Marriott. I know that there's supposedly a good sushi restaurant in a nearby hotel, but would like to avoid hotel restaurants (as well as Tivoli restaurants). We do especially like Asian food though.
