What is the difference between a Superior and Deluxe Balcony cabin

There seems to be quite a difference in the pricing.

 

Superior D2 $506 pp

D3 $506

D1 $746

 

Deluxe E3 $546

E1 $616

 

I am checking the Mariner OTS pricing.

Usually...

 

D is slightly bigger interior, E has a slight bigger balcony but has a slightly smaller interior...the numbers refer to location.

On Mariner the E cabins are smaller, the balconies are the same size unless you get one of the aft facing balconies.

D's are larger than E's...but there is no size difference between, say, a D1 and D2, or E1 and E1. The numbers tell either location on the ship or number of passenger's allowed.

You also might see a slight price difference between say a D - 1 & 2. D Categories off a little more room then E's about 20 sq ft.

The reason why I ask is this relates to another thread presently on going here.

RC advertise 50% off for second pax. I thought this is a good deal but found later this applies to the higher priced balcony cabins only. So it actually works out cheaper if I just book the cheapest balcony cabin for 2 full fare pax.

For RCI we don't have the option of cancelling and rebook at the lower price.

Edit. I just looked at a cruise this morning and if you look at the pricing by guest they are still taking the 60% off the first guest.

I booked a superior cabin on the Liberty and it was $40 more than the deluxe one. On a cruise on the Navigator, the cabins were the same price when we booked, so we went with the superior one.

 

I remember a long couch as opposed to a loveseat as the difference in the length of the room. Maybe there were other changes that I did not note.

All the hump cabins on deck 6,7, and 8 are E2 .Imo they are second best to a D1. The E's are smaller, but only by 2 feet in depth. happy cruising
