steve090157 Posted August 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2017 We are cruising on the Celebrity Reflection late September 2017. Have any cruisers been recently on the Reflection and experienced fellow passengers wearing evening dresses and tuxedo's rather than evening chic. jelayne Posted August 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2017 There are still some who wear a Tux & long dresses on every cruise we have been on since the change. If you like dressing up you won't be the only ones.

reilly1 Posted August 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2017 On our recent cruise, many still wore formal dress. If you want to, go for it. You'll look great! Sent from my iPad using Forums
eandj Posted August 19, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 19, 2017 We see more true formal still worn by Europeans and on European itineraries. But still a small minority. Caribbean cruises, even fewer. "Chic" means something different to different people. You'll see all kinds of dress.

Ohio-C-Luver Posted August 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2017 Not so many evening gowns, more evening pants and sparkly tops and sometimes just dressy casuel-its really up to you, much more casuel now. Fishgirl01 Posted August 19, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 19, 2017 We were on Eclipse to Baltic in July, probably about a third of people still dress up, so really you can do whatever you feel happiest in. We love the dressing up my choice and that is what is good.
benny salami Posted August 19, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 19, 2017 Enjoy the wonderful Reflection and don't worry about the new dress code. Only about 10% are now wearing a tux/evening gown. Standards have eroded and "chic" means anything goes. Have seen jeans on formal nights. Pack less and shop more on your cruise. Alakegirl Posted August 19, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 19, 2017 This summer there were several men and women in traditional formalwear. There was a delightful family from Scotland in the tartans, men in kilts of course. Also a woman from Japan in the most beautiful silk dress I had ever seen. Rare Cruise Raider Posted August 19, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 19, 2017 We recently sailed with our neighbors, who LOVE to dress formally for dinner, so we did the same. We were not out of place!
phoenix_dream Posted August 19, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 19, 2017 I have seen some amount of tuxedos on every cruise I have been on recently (several in the past year). I see very few formal gowns although I have seen a few. Most women who want to really dress up tend to wear a sparkly or fancy cocktail dress rather than a long formal. But if you want to rock a formal - go for it! It's your cruise and as long as you are reasonably within guidelines wear whatever you want.
OCruisers Posted August 19, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 19, 2017 There are still who wear tux and evening gowns. But they are now in the minority. Very true!
