Cruising with a infant (7 months) allowed on 7 day trip with 2 sea days?

Hi all,

 

Experienced cruiser, but first time going with a baby, so pardon my question because the language on the NCL website seems a tad bit confusing.

 

We're booked on a 7 day Eastern Carribean sailing in January on NCL (we're fine with it being re-routed), there are no more than 2 consecutive sea days on the cruise. Will my then 7 month old be allowed? When they say no infants on cruises longer than 3 days at sea, they mean travel days right?

 

I am doubting myself and the call centre is backed up with Irma callers.

I'm going with yes, your 7 month can go.

Cruise lines want the child to be 12 months when doing transatlantic crossings, LA to Hawaii, etc. Multiple days at sea with no possible evac options.

I think so, but I would check with your Travel Agent or NCL.

Did you book for the kid? If the cruise line knows, you ought to be good to go.

It says three or more consecutive days at sea. If you only have two, it's allowed.

The 3 days means 3 consecutive days. The reason is that infants can get sick really quickly and they need to be within evacuation distance if necessary. Anything to the Western Caribbean is close enough that you are within an easy day's sail of land somewhere.

I am sure you will be fine but I would never take a child that young on a cruise. Parents don't fully enjoy it and child wont remember it. Just our opinion after traveling for years with and without kids.
