Balcony smoking

Recommended Posts

I've not noticed a smoker on the balcony since the ban went into effect. I have seen numerous reports here of others finding and reporting balcony smokers.

As a smoker, I really miss a late night smoke on my balcony but have never broken the rules. I just head to the casino which I enjoy anyway!

On our Rhapsody cruise last week 3 people were smoking on a balcony one deck below us on day two. After a quick visit to Guest Services I gather they were were warned disembarkation could result with a further offence - never saw them on the balcony again.

Haven’t had an issue with smokers on balconies since we moved to GS. Had issues with smokers on lower level balconies.

People in GS smoke on their balconies too, it isn't just the "lower level balconies". The large group smoking near us had at least one GS, not sure if they had the GS beside it too, or if that was who was making the complaints.

We had this problem on Harmony last month. Not only did the people next door smoke but woke us up at 3:00a.m. yelling (I guess fighting) with their balcony door open. When I got up and opened our balcony door to see where the noise was coming from I smelled the smoke and the smell lingered in our cabin from me opening our door. YUK! I mentioned it to our cabin steward and she said that she told the people that smoking was prohibited because she smelled it in their room and they denied it. I wish I would have called security! This is the first cruise I noticed a lot of people on the pool deck at night smoking because the pool bar stayed open late. These people haven't realized what a disgusting, smelly habit smoking is!

If someone was smoking where it was blowing into our balcony, I would report it.

Yes and we’ve called to complain! Sorry, but I can’t stand the smell and hubby is allergic to the smoke! Also, it’s plain wrong!!!!! Usually it seems to be someone below us so it always rises right into our balcony or in our cabin.

Must be while docked or tendered.

That's because that is probably one of the smoking areas.

So they ARE following the rules.

Dose anyone know the rules on vaping?

There no naked flame.

No smoke smell normally just a sweet scent.

And it’s just water vapour that’s exhaled.

Would anyone report this? I’m on a NCL cruise and wondered if I could vape on my balcony? I have no problem sticking to the rules if I’m not a loud.

Maybe you should ask on the NCL board? They would probably be more knowledgeable of NCL's rules than the people on the RCI board.

On Royal Caribbean, vaping falls under the same rules as smoking and is not allowed on balconies. You might want to check out the NCL forum for their rules.
