Princess Cays

I am going to Princess Cays via Carnival in January. Is the water warm enough to go swimming? Any advice?

The water will likely range from mid to high 70's (Fahrenheit)

Water was a little chilly 11/12/17 BUT felt wonderful after the initial shock

If you're from the North, it will be fine. If you're from Florida, you will find it chilly! However, the sun will be warm, and you may not get hot enough to need to get wet!

We've had port stops at Princess Cays MANY times over the years in January.

The water temperatures are always too chilly for us but there are always some who do seem to enjoy the water.

Take water shoes. ;)

I take the plunge immediately and adapt. DH takes his time--around 20 minutes before he's fully in. I'm about ready to go then, but I'll stay with him a few more minutes.

We were there on 11/6/17 and it was pretty warm - just took a minute to get used to it. But the water in Jamaica was chilly. Grand Cayman and Cozumel were warm.

Remember, Princess Cays is in the Atlantic Ocean (Bahamas), NOT the Caribbean. Yes, it may be chilly in January.
