Rare APDMOM Posted December 8, 2017 Author #101 Share Posted December 8, 2017 After the excursion, we went back to the ship so that DH could recover from his flight adventure. Views of Labadee from the ship:
Rare APDMOM Posted December 8, 2017 Author #102 Share Posted December 8, 2017 We ate lunch on the ship and enjoyed the quiet afternoon on our balcony, including sunset and sail away: Tonight we got serenaded by the wait staff: Best assistant waiter… Diego (pictured below)! Wish we could travel with him and our waiter, Alvin, all the time. They were both excellent, one of the 2 best teams we have had on 25 cruises! Rare APDMOM Posted December 8, 2017 Author #103 Share Posted December 8, 2017 We hope to see Labadee again in the future. Here is one of my Instagram edits (apdmomcurzr) from this past cruise. There is something special about a ship, clear water, and palm trees!
Rare APDMOM Posted December 8, 2017 Author #104 Share Posted December 8, 2017 I will be back tomorrow with some more ship pictures, sea day adventures, and my views :) Thanks for all the positive comments and for reading/viewing along! Rare APDMOM Posted December 8, 2017 Author #105 Share Posted December 8, 2017 A quick view of the afts, before I forget: These are pictures from Freedom, which has the exact same balcony as 1388. It is a bit higher in category than 7388/7688. It is a D1, but has the large interior (about the size of junior suite, but with regular bathroom): A little bit of a view on the side too: As mentioned before, most people prefer this large cabin, while we prefer the larger balcony: ... and now it is really time to close for the night :)

We'll be doing Navigator Transatlantic in April 2018, therefore I am very interested in your recent photos! We had this pole cabin on Freedom Transatlantic April 2017 (cabin 1700) and enjoyed the space as it was a 2 week long cruise and we were three in the cabin. We did not get to use the balcony as much as you, since the weather was not very good for the crossing.
ClassicalSax Posted December 8, 2017 #107 Share Posted December 8, 2017 great review!. we board her today for the same itinerary. did i understand right that you redeemed diamond vouchers on the card during the happy hour for water bottles to take on excursiin the next day? if so, did not know that was an option. thanks for the tip. Rare BillOh Posted December 8, 2017 #108 Share Posted December 8, 2017 Definitely one of the best decisions we have made - booking that excursion! Stay tuned for our pictures and experience. :) That was a lot of fun for us as well, looking forward to your pictures, something to do while the temp drops into the teens here. Rare BillOh Posted December 8, 2017 #109 Share Posted December 8, 2017 As mentioned before, this was our second cruise as diamond, but a vastly different experience from Oasis. Both the lounge and Cosmopolitan Club were used at night for the ‘happy hour’. It got very crowded and loud. There must have been many more diamond and diamond plus members than on Oasis. Having the Diamond lounge and late dinner seatings makes a good combination. Once the early diners head to dinner the place gets less crowded. I do love the Voyager class DL a little more than the Oasis class.

Yes, on Oasis DH never even bought an alcoholic drink - just got 3 bottles of water every night at the bar, using his diamond voucher. Enjoy your cruise!:)
Rare APDMOM Posted December 9, 2017 Author #116 Share Posted December 9, 2017 Unfortunately, we are having a bad thunderstorm, so the computer with all my pictures is off. Hopefully, it will clear up before it gets too late. In the meantime, if you have not followed the live review that iahawkfan21 posted during our cruise, you can find menus and cruise compass here (Back2back with Western leg first): https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2565439

Rare APDMOM Posted December 9, 2017 Author #118 Share Posted December 9, 2017 At the end of the day in Labadee, we got a reminder in our stateroom to turn the clocks one hour forward. When we woke up on this sea day, the ship was relatively quiet - probably due to the time change. After my morning cappuccino and breakfast, we went to the rock climbing wall for open climbing time. We were the only ones there, which was great for our son to try rock climbing for the first time. The staff members at the rock wall were awesome and very patient! Rare APDMOM Posted December 9, 2017 Author #119 Share Posted December 9, 2017 We decided to enter the ‘raffle’ for extra onboard credit by booking another cruise (like I need another excuse to book a cruise… :D LOL!) We saw that Harmony is moving to Port Canaveral, so we booked another cruise for November 10th in 2019. That will make two years in a row boarding Harmony on November 10th. :) The rest of the ‘sea day’ we spent a lot of time on the balcony before heading to the ice show. From past experience, we decided not to wait in the long line 40 minutes before the show, thinking there are usually plenty of seats available 15 minutes before. Especially, with few children on board, we thought we made good time…. wrong! We only found seats for 3 in the back on the left side of Studio B. So, the pictures are not great. I also made the mistake of trying a new setting on my camera, and did not switch it. The pictures looked good through the viewfinder, but at home they did not look so good on a big screen. Lesson learned. Maybe I should stop "playing with the settings” and actually look at how to take good pictures of the low-lit shows. Rare APDMOM Posted December 9, 2017 Author #120 Share Posted December 9, 2017 So, Tip: Show up early for the ice show. If a good seat is important to you, don't assume the cruise will be like previous experiences. Different demographics = different interests. Apparently, this group had a high interest in the ice show. There are also no longer tickets to pick up for the ice show, and the show is not divided by muster station (which I was not a fan of anyway). A few more views of the ice show: Look at the angle of their bodies… on the ice… on a moving ship! LOVED hearing "Rock me Amadeus"... Blast from the very distant past! Rare APDMOM Posted December 9, 2017 Author #121 Share Posted December 9, 2017 That evening’s headliner was Brad Cummings. It was fun, but became a bit redundant: Talk to me, Siri :D Exiting the main theater:
