Rare Alphen Posted January 4, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 4, 2018 There is a lot of talk about Ms Maasdam and a supposed dock/conversion to exploration, including the installation of cranes and zodiacs. I see no listing of a dock period, but there is currently a gap in her schedule; Arriving Fort Lauderdale August 31-2018 Departing Fort Lauderdale September 10-2018 Any ideas???? sammytheone Posted January 10, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 10, 2018 Noordam Mar 24/19 to Apr 7/19 https://www.davekozcruise.com/2019/ We have a 14 day NZ cruise booked for these dates that HA has not contacted us about. We also have the Apr 7 to Apr 28 TP booked that may have a charter in progress. Both are listed on the HA web as sold out.

I see no listing of a dock period, but there is currently a gap in her schedule; Arriving Fort Lauderdale August 31-2018 Departing Fort Lauderdale September 10-2018 Any ideas???? It could very well be a dry dock, as I believe the In Depth EXC cruise itineraries start fall of 2018. Perhaps a new thread/post to the attention of Copper would result in some answers? I emailed the contact on the website, March 24-31, 2019 and also March 31-April 07, 2019 are charters. Hal will probably be contacting those who have deposits for those sailings, once the paperwork is confirmed for the charters. I would think you will be offered some OBC as compensation if you book another cruise.

Did you hear anything about adjustments on Maasdam to sort of an expedition type vessel (with 1300 guests, that would be a lot of zodiacs ;p)? Rare Btimmer Posted January 11, 2018 #23 Share Posted January 11, 2018 For the Maasdam, I have read that it’s getting two cranes mounted in the front along with an unknown number of zodiac inflatable boats. We’re booked on it for 10 Sept so I’ll update from onboard. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Copper10-8 Posted January 11, 2018 #24 Share Posted January 11, 2018 For the Maasdam, I have read that it’s getting two cranes mounted in the front along with an unknown number of zodiac inflatable boats. We’re booked on it for 10 Sept so I’ll update from onboard. Sent from my iPhone using Forums That's really interesting since the "S" and "R" class vessels already have bow cranes on port and starboard sides. They are used, predominantly, to lower and raise the ship's long gangway on to docks where that bad boy is needed. At times, they are used to lower the paint float, stored on the bow, to the water so the sailors can have a go at painting the hull at the waterline
