DWhit Posted December 20, 2017 #26 Share Posted December 20, 2017 As long as they hold to dress code to something just short of the end of a Royal Carribean Quest contest, things should be fine.:D
Lastdance Posted December 20, 2017 #27 Share Posted December 20, 2017 I always remember that rules/laws are always made, but enforcing them is entirely subjective to ship, time, person in charge and luck! OP...you will be just fine, unless Celebrity decides to place a fine on anyone it feels is breaking the rule! Hahahaha! Enjoy your cruise!
davekathy Posted December 20, 2017 #28 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Maybe they should also fix the problem where the web site says maximum of 2 evening chic nights on cruises irregardless of length while some ships are holding three. Agree!
Mynki Posted December 20, 2017 #29 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Most people dress up on Chic Night and the ones who don't come here to recruit. Who cares. With the number of historical complaints you've made about chic night, my guess would be, errrr, You! :D :D :D
cruise47 Posted December 20, 2017 #30 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Is this change clearly stated on their website. I could not access their website to ascertain this change.
SetU2 Posted December 20, 2017 #31 Share Posted December 20, 2017 Let’s get a wrap on this thread. I have 897 in the pool for number of Dress Code threads for 2017 and we still need to get in 3 or 4 more. Ma Bell Posted December 20, 2017 #34 Share Posted December 20, 2017 With the number of historical complaints you've made about chic night, my guess would be, errrr, You! :D :D :D There's a difference between comments and complaints. Personally, I don't care what anyone else wears, it's their problem not mine but I do care that new cruisers get the facts.
DirtyDawg Posted December 20, 2017 #35 Share Posted December 20, 2017 You will be fine. Just don't look like a slob and no worries. :) Yup, this is no big deal. Now, if Celebrity changed the dress code so that they required women to wear only long sleeves.............. ... ka boom! :D
keithm Posted December 21, 2017 #36 Share Posted December 21, 2017 Since no one on any celebrity ship actually enforces any dress code, this is only an academic discussion. Folks will continue to wear what they want....and no celebrity employee will tell them they aren’t welcome in whatever dining room they go to. Sent from my iPad using Forums Not sure what ship/line you're referring to. Every night on Eclipse we saw the Maître D turn away slovenly dressed pax. I mean really, at night shorts & T shirt are fine for a trailer trash jamboree, but not for a line that advertises "Modern Luxury! Is it too hard to have a nice pair of slacks(Khakis & the like)decent collared shirt(long or short sleeve)nice pair of shoes. Dress down during the day is fine & expected, but at night a little proper decorum should be the rule. If not, then those pax should choose a more casual line. Can'tstopcruising Posted December 21, 2017 #37 Share Posted December 21, 2017 Ladies! Don't you think the dress code is a man's issue? I don't know about you, but I wear just about the same thing as I used to on formal night. My DH, however, doesn't wear a tux, suit or even a jacket anymore. He happens to have a lot of nice sweaters! As to sleeve length...it is rather cool in the MDR. If a man isn't wearing a jacket or a sweater, I think he will be more comfortable in long sleeves. warmwinds Posted December 21, 2017 #39 Share Posted December 21, 2017 Sailing the Caribbean my husband is NOT bringing any long sleeved shirts! Since he is retired, he maybe has a few in his closet that he he pulls out for wedding and funerals, but NOT on a cruise!
TrikerDave Posted December 21, 2017 #40 Share Posted December 21, 2017 You’d think they were asking men to sit down so they can pull all your teeth before eating. Peteymil Posted December 21, 2017 #47 Share Posted December 21, 2017 The rules weren’t changed, just clarified. Most would take “a shirt with sleeves” to mean long sleeved. Or simply wear a jacket. Sent from my iPad using Forums I wouldn’t, short sleeves are sleeves.

He wears short sleeved shirts and shorts all year round, and owns a couple of pairs of long pants and a suit jacket for weddings, funerals and cruises. If he has to wear a long sleeved shirt, those sleeves would be rolled up in a flash and would not look nearly as nice as his neat short sleeved ones. cruise47 Posted December 21, 2017 #49 Share Posted December 21, 2017 Can someone please post the new written dress code for men. I still cannot ascertain this Information on The Celebrity website. Thanks.
cruise47 Posted December 21, 2017 #50 Share Posted December 21, 2017 (edited) I have finally able been able to read the website and I am more confused than before. I will ask my English professor spouse to interpret the dress code for men. Right now I am going to bring a dark suit, a dress shirt and a neck tie.
