Balto. Guys Posted December 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2017 When I use my card. Do I need to tip the server cash or do they get 18% added on?
Domergirl Posted December 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2017 You'll still have to sign for each drink. We've always added a tip when we sign. I don't think they get any tip otherwise. Also...if you don't tip, I doubt you'll see them very often! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
TNcruising02 Posted December 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 24, 2017 Deleted. Oops. Sorry, I misunderstood the post. I thought you were talking about the drink package.
wildcatcruzer Posted December 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2017 We always take $1 bills and tip with one for each drink. We have no problems getting drinks.
poz222 Posted December 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 24, 2017 Yes... even more important with a DOU Card...
katiel53 Posted December 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 24, 2017 I also tip $1 a drink when I get the DOU card. I just give cash to the server.
evandbob Posted December 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 24, 2017 Either cash or a tip on the zero bill works, esp. if one is on a casino fare cruise and gets the DOU card the first day.
klfrodo Posted December 24, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 24, 2017 No, the 18% is not added on. You have to sign a $0.00 bill. Just like Vegas,, no tip means you might not see them for a while.

Moviela Posted December 24, 2017 #11 Share Posted December 24, 2017 Both bartender and server are working a tipped position. The casino pays for the drink (at a steep discount) and a 15% gratuity. The drink menu is severely limited, and higher quality spirits are excluded. That said, isn't it worth at least a buck for the services of the bartender, bar back, and server to take your order and bring your drink?
firemanbobswife Posted December 24, 2017 #12 Share Posted December 24, 2017 Where did 18% come from? Far as I know the bar tips are still calculated at 15%.
RHilla619 Posted December 24, 2017 #13 Share Posted December 24, 2017 There is no mandatory tip when using the Drinks on Us card, as you will receive a zero'd out receipt. From there you have the option to add a tip on the receipt which will go into the tip pool. Or give the server a couple bucks or a couple $1 chips if your on the tables, I've found doing this usually improves the service since they get it right in their pocket. May1cruiser Posted December 24, 2017 #15 Share Posted December 24, 2017 i have given $2 tip and have team fighting to help me. On some occasions, they see me coming a have the drink on the tray and meet me at the seat knowing what I want. they do work hard and appreciate the gratutity. SMSACE6 Posted December 25, 2017 #18 Share Posted December 25, 2017 I asked a Carnival casino employee the first time I got a Drink on us card, and was told that they do get an extra, but they were not sure how much. I have since then always added either a dollar or more per drink delivery in the casino, or tipped a dollar cash. I have always had stellar service by the drink waiters in the casino. I have actually always had excellent service from bar staff on Carnival regardless of whether in the casino or elsewhere on the ship, and if I get excellent service from bar staff, in other parts of the ship beside the casino I routinely add a bit extra either on the bill you sign, or a buck in cash. Just my way of doing things on board, and works for me.
