dlwfarm Posted December 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2017 looking for things to do that are within a couple miles from port. Or other things to do that you can get to from the bus? Not wanting to spend much money in this port. Thanks, mary
CruiserBruce Posted December 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2017 There are many threads down the board on Labadee. This is a "private island" type situation. You don't have to spend any money here. You can lay on the beach and swim. Eat at the buffet, and a number of other things without spending a penny. Yes, there will be excursions and activities that have a cost. But you can have a relaxing day with any $$$ out of your pocket.
indy71 Posted December 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2017 Everything is within walking distance, or you can take a tram if you prefer.
Capt_BJ Posted December 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2017 looking for things to do that are within a couple miles from port. Altho Lab' is a part of Haiti and not a 'private island' the compound is closed to the outside. Except for some limited, and controlled, contact thru excursions you can not exit the compound and just 'explore' ...... This is why things like the PWC rentals are done as a tour with a follow me approach. You are NOT to go ashore just outside the fence line and interact ..... ******* somewhat like the Naval Station at Guantanamo Cuba where a number of Cuban locals come thru a special gate each day to work ... but US folks are not allowed to visit the other side ..... cb at sea Posted December 31, 2017 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2017 You can't leave to "go" anywhere. It's a self-contained area...totally walkable. They do have "trams" if you need them. Consider it an "extension" of the ship.
Rare Keith1010 Posted December 31, 2017 #6 Share Posted December 31, 2017 Good analogy by cb at sea. I too see it as a nice extension from the ship. Keith
