loui30 Posted January 8, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2018 /we just got a great upgrade but we have gone from mid ship to the back of the boat -- we are on the 8th floor on the Millennium with a 14 day cruise of Asia. Does anyone have any info about engine noise/vibrations or views from the back ? I know the suites are on the back of the boat so am I assuming we should be OK? warmwinds Posted January 8, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Are you on the very back, or just towards the back? The only suites at the very back are the 2 penthouse suites. Above them are Concierge class and FV's (decks 7,8,9) until you get up to Deck 11 which is Aqua class. "towards" the aft on either side is different. HookedonSXM Posted January 8, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2018 We have been in FV at the aft of deck 9 twice on the Millenium. No issues at all with vibration or noise that I recall. We loved both those rooms and will only book aft rooms now.
jelayne Posted January 9, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2018 If you are at the very aft on deck 7, 8 or 9 you have scored a FV - fab room with huge balcony or a C1 which has a big balcony.
G.M.T. Posted January 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 9, 2018 / we have gone from mid ship to the back of the boat -- Back of the boat (do you think you will be seated next to the outboard motor). Hope the Millennium Captain doesn't read this forum - otherwise an old event could be brought back into use "Walking the Plank".:o:eek:
leaveitallbehind Posted January 9, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2018 Aft facing staterooms provide a great view, no engine noise or vibration in our experience, and no noise issues as that deck has only staterooms above and below.
Rare chemmo Posted January 9, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 9, 2018 We have been lucky enough to cruise a few times in one of those deck 6 aft suites! No noise at all other than occasional music in the bar at the top (guitarist) and a trivia game one or two sea mornings! I thoroughly enjoyed both activities without having to leave my balcony! Those wake views really are stunning. Hope you have a great cruise.
cruise47 Posted January 9, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 9, 2018 What is your cabin number and have you check the ship deck plan for your cabin location ?
PelicanLvr Posted January 9, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 9, 2018 Aft facing staterooms on Millie are the best and most desirable on the ship. If you have one, you did good!!
Mr. Click Posted January 9, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 9, 2018 We scored an upgrade to a C3 from a 2B on deck 7 last March. We were close to the stern but not all the way back. It was fine so enjoy your upgrade.

champagne lover Posted January 10, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 10, 2018 DavidHurt - is this entertainment onboard Millie? Sounds like something we might enjoy. Will try and remember and report back.
suekay Posted January 10, 2018 #14 Share Posted January 10, 2018 The aft facing balconies are extremely hot when in parts of Asia as there is no breeze. We asked for, and were given a very large fan. Best position on the ship Sent from my SM-T550 using Forums mobile app
kjwinston2019 Posted January 12, 2018 #15 Share Posted January 12, 2018 My Beautiful wife and I cruise about once every 5 years. We save up to get the best rooms, planes ect. But we keep coming back to the back of the ship. When we were first going together (engagement) we took our first boat ride on the Queen Marquette out of Seattle and we just rode in the back of the ship gazing at the sunrise then the moon rising. We have never go sick in the back. We just love to count the waves together.

Yes, Lado Strings are entertainment onboard Millie. I highly recommend you make a point of listening to them at least once. I'd also like to hear your opinion of them. They are very friendly so, if you speak with them, please tell them David & Sheilah say hello. Thanks.
