teddyton Posted February 14, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Does it need to be in checked baggage or does it need to be carried on? Thanks
teknoge3k Posted February 14, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 14, 2018 It doesn't matter. Personally I would carry it on just so it doesn't get damaged but you can put it in your checked luggage if you wish. Cruise lines aren't like airlines. Schoifmom Posted February 14, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I would never check electronics at any time. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
TNcruising02 Posted February 14, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I would advise carrying it with you in a small bag. When the porters take the luggage, it sometimes gets tossed around. Then it's left in front of each person's cabin door. There is always a possibility that your laptop could get damaged or stolen unless you keep it with you. Computer Nerd Posted February 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2018 Depends on how many pieces you want it in when it gets to your cabin. ;)

RHilla619 Posted February 14, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2018 It can 100% be carried on, and as others have suggested make sure you do so.

cb at sea Posted February 14, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 14, 2018 ANYTHING of value should be IN YOUR POSSESSION. DO not check electronics, or medications, or jewelry, money or ANYTHING you don't want to lose. No one wants your clothes.. so that's pretty safe to check. If you don't want to carry it on, don't bring it. Oh...and lock your checked bags, just to be sure.
idlenote Posted February 14, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2018 If you've ever looked over the side of the ship where they are loading the luggage and seen a couple of suitcases gently floating against the side of the ship there's another reason for carrying it on. Flatbush Flyer Posted February 14, 2018 #11 Share Posted February 14, 2018 lol Okay was a dumb question now that I see the answers. Thanks, everyone. There's no such thing as a "dumb" question! Wait! Maybe there is and this is it! Just yankin' your chain. Never let anything of true value (or necessity) leave your view and control. evandbob Posted February 14, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 14, 2018 lol Okay was a dumb question now that I see the answers. Thanks, everyone. Never a dumb question. Only dumb if the right answers get ignored. Enjoy your cruise.
Rare Saint Greg Posted February 14, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 14, 2018 I always carry on. And be prepared to remove it before you put your bag through the scanner.
