It doesn't matter. Personally I would carry it on just so it doesn't get damaged but you can put it in your checked luggage if you wish. Cruise lines aren't like airlines.

I would advise carrying it with you in a small bag. When the porters take the luggage, it sometimes gets tossed around. Then it's left in front of each person's cabin door. There is always a possibility that your laptop could get damaged or stolen unless you keep it with you.

Depends on how many pieces you want it in when it gets to your cabin. ;)

Never ever bag check a laptop... Unless you want an erector set to put together or a lighter suitcase apon Arrival

ANYTHING of value should be IN YOUR POSSESSION. DO not check electronics, or medications, or jewelry, money or ANYTHING you don't want to lose. No one wants your clothes.. so that's pretty safe to check. If you don't want to carry it on, don't bring it. Oh...and lock your checked bags, just to be sure.

If you've ever looked over the side of the ship where they are loading the luggage and seen a couple of suitcases gently floating against the side of the ship there's another reason for carrying it on.

I always carry on. And be prepared to remove it before you put your bag through the scanner.
