Club Royale Casino Certificate Change

Recommended Posts

Spoke with both CR (Sarah) and C&A (Tim) today. Both confirmed the "no more double points" policy and both confirmed a high level meeting between loyalty and the casino was taking place today. Tim indicated that this "issue" is the biggest deal they have going on at the moment and confirmed that many high level C&A members had begun cancelling cruises over this policy.

Sarah assured me that all of the [suite] cruises I booked prior to April 15 would receive double points. Tim would not make that same assurance to me. Tim also offered to call me when a final decision had been made.

I guess all we can do is let them know of our displeasure and then decide how we will handle it if things don't go our way.

I can tell you that you have defanately been duped by the CR rep. I Booked my 12 Anthem cruise for 1/6/19 in February well before the 4/15 policy change and I had to have my 200.00 casino vouchers removed from my reservation so I could get my double points. I called again today to talk to both departments to plead my displeasure again. they pretty much said OH WELL it is what is is and said they could do nothing. They said for 12 extra points " I was wise" to have the certificates removed. Its bull$h1t!!

They said that its the same thing as the employees getting thier discount and getting double points on suites its just not allowed. C and A rep said this should have been the policy all along they are just catching it now. What bull.

I just got off the phone with Casino Royale yesterday. Haven't gotten the email but I'm positive both my wife and I will fall into the second tier. We will be boarding the Rhapsody on sunday for a B2B. They assured me that the casino host will have a list of the tier I will be in. And put the sticker on the seapass. We will be in Key West on Monday so if everything doesn't go right. They gave me another number to call.

The way the Tiers work are first tier Zero to 2499 points basically nothing. Tier two 2500 to 24999, free drinks, free cruise inside cabin. zero charge for cash advances. Some others that I'm not sure of. The next tier gets a free balcony room, and other perks. The Master tier gets a junior suite and other perks .

The certificates will remain as they are now.

You've been duped. The Casino Host will not have a list of the tier you're in. They told me that before I left on my b2b that ended on April 6th. Both the Casino Host and the Casino Manager, who I happen to know from previous sailings, told me that they don't have access to point totals. They only have the data from your last cruise so they can know if you qualify for the VIP sticker (free drinks). Call again and you'll get a different answer.

Will our tier be determined by the points we earned in 2017?

From what I'm led to believe. This year started in Sept of 2016 till Dec 31 2017 (16 months). Next years points are from Jan 1, 2018 till March 31, 2019 (15 months). After that it will be from April 1 till March 31 (12 months) every year.

I read at the beginning of April that they were also not going to give double points when you upgrade your cabin to a JS through an upsell call, even if you pay additional. I can't remember where I saw it, but I haven't seen anything more about it.

I think Royal still has a problem with the availability of Suites, the high amount of top tier people. I believe there is pressure to limit those making those higher tiers.

Milwaukee you are absolutely right this will put the brakes on a lot of loyal customers speeding towards diamond, diamond plus...

It will actually force you to spend double in the casino and or double on cruises to obtain different levels.

It really pulls the casino players out of the "fast track" advantage of pissing our money away in the casino to reach higher crown and anchor levels. This is "free" money they will lose in the end.

We will see. I have 2 emails from them and 2 different phone numbers to call if they don't (including a toll free out of the US number). I was on a cruise during the "change" and the casino host told me that ship was not participating in the new program. When I called they were very concerned about that answer and asked me to put it in an email.\

We are not "high rollers" and have not qualified for a free cruise yet. But we sailed on 24 cruises during the first time period. And have 7 so far this year with 9 more reserved.. We usually get certificates for from $100 to $400

Every CR VIP member that booked Suites, 1-2 years ago well before 4/15/18 using a certificate, discount or casino code HAS BEEN DUPED!

That's a lot of pissed off big spending loyal customers

Once again, call twice and you'll get different answers. My casino host also told me that my ship wasn't participating so I called when I returned and was told there were only a few ships participating. When I said that it didn't make sense because it supposed to be an overall point system, she said "I don't know. That's what they're telling us to say"

I don't want you to think that I'm trying to blow up what you think will happen, I just want you to understand what others have been told. As far as I'm aware, no one has been given their point total or told exactly how the new program will work.

Anyone hear anything about this "high level meeting" today? I too have a junior suite booked for 12 nights first week of june which would have put me into Diamond Plus with double points. The only reason I have stuck with RC. This may be exactly the think I need to at least take these benefits to Celebrity for the time being.

My wife recently became a TA, with our circle of gambling friends and her customers she is now selling them the MSC experience, typically she would have steered them towards RC.

She has already had 2 customers want to cancel fully paid off booked RC cruises.

She has quite a few customers willing to take their $$$$ where she advises they will be treated with honesty get crystal clear communication and be rewarded for their casino bankrolls.

Her customers found out about these casino issues via social media and are not invested in RC and likely not to be.

This thread is being projected onto their big screen in their corporate meeting room as we speak.

So make sure your voices are heard:cool:

Just messing, today sometime but seeing as it is 6pm on the East Coast, I would imagine they are at a bar having a drink and a good ole laugh at as all.

Well I just called club royale and this all is indeed true! I gave every reason why it was not right and they do not give a damn. Period.

I asked about taking the cruise fare off to get the double points and it would drive my rate up $2500 so I of course said no. But news flash.......though I thank you for the discounted fare which i earned I won't be gambling on the cruise so I give the big "FU" to RC. You probably lost 3-5k right there. Ill be taking a few more cruises on your dime too but i'm done being loyal. Celebrity here i come.

If we don't get the double points on all of our suites, we are done with RC also.

We are not afraid to spend thousands on other lines

Going to Celebrity won’t hurt them overall. Aren’t they two parts of the same conglomerate?

Carnival and MCS will hurt their bottom line.

I sent an email. We have planned for our drinks and 5% fee to be waived. I'm not thrilled about the double points and I see how many of you are affected by that. We'll never make Pinnacle and with over 300 points, we're well entrenched in the D+ benefits. But many of you are impacted and I'm mad for you. Once again, Royal makes terrible pr decisions. I remember we lost our access to the CL a few weeks before we sailed in a JS and we had planned on being with friends who were in a GS. :( Maybe spend less time building gargantuan ships and treat the people who have given you the $$$ to build them a little more respect.

I've been seriously considering MSC - this may send me over.

Interesting they don't agree with each other, exactly the same yarn we were spun.

Clarification, one confirmed you would receive double points for cruises booked before 4/15/18.

So did you speak to them before they had had the meeting or after the meeting had taken place, any idea from what you were being told on this as to gauge their relative responses.

Yes, the Club Royale rep said that I WOULD get double points for those cruises that I already had booked and the Crown & Anchor rep said he couldn't promise that I would....so we'll see.

Apparently the meeting between C&A and CR was going on when I called so it was still in progress.

We just got off Allure and the casino hostess DID have our points total from the initial evaluation period and our tier level so some of them do have the information. The hostesses on Allure could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Needless to say, they were very popular and busy as everyone wanted to know their tier level. They went out of their way to help us all.

It’s odd that two ships sailing from the same port have two different answers. On Harmony, we were told they were not participating in the new CR pier levels.

It's been that way for quite awhile now. The only way to get double points is to pay the going rate.

I really don’t understand the concept of booking suites to get points in a loyalty program. I understand gambling for an often useless certificate even less.

If you can afford to gamble enough to get these benefits it would seem to me you could also afford to buy your own drink package and afford a couple scoops of ice cream. Seems silly to get upset about a program that is rewarding you for throwing away your money on nothing (aka gambling).

It’s your vacation enjoy it.

The way they are giving out points now must have changed. I played over 4–1/2 hours of roulette at $100/bet and only got 536 points!! Normally that would be over 1,000 points. At this rate I’ll be out of the program and probably will be staying out of the casino the way things are going.
