Club Royale Casino Certificate Change

Recommended Posts

I stressed to them in my last email that they should NEVER have told anyone about a change in policy unless it was REALLY official AND they had all the details and information to answer the basic questions. How this was “rolled” out and subsequently handled is atrocious. It wouldn’t have ever happened like that if I were the boss lol.

Nick,

Points are awarded from C&A, not CR. C&A set the rules that may be changed at anytime without reason.

General Rules

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. has the right to terminate the Crown & Anchor Society[emoji768] Program ("the Program") or to change the Terms and Conditions of participation and benefits, in whole or in part; at any time without notice. Membership may be terminated at our sole discretion for anyone appearing to be utilizing the Program in a manner inconsistent with its terms, conditions, or intent.

I just called and was told that the new rules did not affect solos, just suite guests.

I agree that it's "their party" and they can make any rules they want to, but it's dirty pool to change the rules after we've paid and without any knowledge. That really irritates the heck out of me.

I will still affect solos not getting their 3 points for sailing in a JS or higher.

Well I sent my email as well. I have 2 problems...

1. A new CR system that was to be rolled out in March...still nothing

2. A new RCCL website, that is ineffective and wont register any of my current bookings.

They need to do better than this.

I also have a GS on a December 2018 cruise that I used with a cruise certificate....and now wont receive the double points...I think any bookings made on or before April 15th (and there should have been notification) should be allowed to keep their double points.

I still love RCCL and I will remain loyal...but I can do a superior ocean view and be ok...especially if I'm only getting 1 point.

Thank you, but she does have a point. She booked expecting one thing and she's getting less than expected, again with no warning or notice. I'm not sure I have ever seen another business do this, change the rules after final payment with no options. It really bothers me.

Troy,

Don't be surprised I agree with the fact they can change the rules at anytime.

I get the T&C,s

It is in the manner it has been done, very amateur to say the least.

1. Program in flux for 2 years.

2. Not notifying their customer base of any changes.

3. Not even really thinking about the backlash from long standing VIP members not having the courtesy to inform them of a VERY significant policy change.

4. Different departments not knowing the validity or even knowing about the policy change.

5. Fully paid off bookings prior to 4/15/18 not being granfathered in as a common sense goodwill gesture.

If and a BIG IF! The one point rule does mature into an official communicated policy to its customers.

This cruiser understands that is the policy, and would not book a high end suite with any casino discount, certificate or CR offer code.

So WHY would I gamble in the casino to try and gain any of these.

Can't they see it is a LOSE LOSE for ALL of their patrons.

Common sense really.

I might as well apply their logic of thinking and bet $100 on Red and $100 on black and expect to win!

What is it about Carnivals program that is better?

Free drinks in the casino without schmoozing casino manager, specific casino cruises (deeply discounted) with daily events, gifts in cabin, even on regular cruises daily promotions, events, free cruise give always etc. on the other hand I just came off Freedom of Seas....no daily events (except the slot tourney). Slots paid out zero....I was amazed by the complaints I was hearing from others. The only thing keeping me playing was the idea I would get a certificate to offset my losses. So when I go to use it,it is basically worthless for a Junior Suite getting points to get to pinnacle. They are successfully conflicting the two programs against each other. CA & CR.

They must think we are all dumb as #%€¥

You, I and all of their customers can see there is no logic in their thinking.

They are not even robbing Peter to feed Paul

They are just going to see their profits in the casino considerably decrease.

Drink packages will then be increased to offset their losses.

Just to throw another log on the fire....the casino runs the arcade, my daughter was sent an in cabin letter stating as a D+ if she purchases 50.00 in arcade credits she gets a 25.00 credit. She did this but received no credit. I inquired and they said you must make a single purchase of 50.00 to get the credit. This is more of the ticky tack bull manure they are pulling these days.

What is it about Carnivals program that is better?

I have recently made the switch to Carnival (not completely as I still have 2 booked on the Mariner), but the casino program is much more generous. Much more like Royal's used to be.

My current offers are $100 pp stateroom plus Casino Cash ($300 for short cruises, $600 for longer) and the Drinks on Us card (just like the free drinks in the casino sticker). I can book that offer up to 20 times so long as I book them all before the offer period ends (May 23).

In addition, I am now booked on 2 premier cruises which include: Invite only cocktail party at sail away, priority boarding, Drinks on Us card (free drinks in the casino), bottle of champagne delivered to the room on day 2, choc strawberries/cookies/etc delivered throughout the cruise, invite only drawings and games, and more at the discretion of the casino host based on my play at the time.

I still love Royal for other things, but the Carnival wins the Casino program hands down.

Actually, in the real world, we probably agree on more things than one might [emoji848] think.

In my email to Mr Bayley I tried to point out that the Casino players are among the most loyal. I have averaged 5 cruises/~24 days at sea per year for 3 years. Additionally, I come with stake of $1000/day. If a customer had a drink package, an expensive excursion and a high value spa visit every day, I might spend $450/day. So, losing my potential business comes at a $$ cost to him.

Similarly, cruising for me is convenient. I am a craps player and the odds aren't the best and they have low table limits. The drinks aren't free, they are deducted from any casino reward I may earn. I always upgrade to a suite from whatever offer I have at an out of pocket cost. If I chose to use that money for airfare to Vegas, I would be comped a room, get a ~$500 food/bev credit, get truly free drinks and have more dining/entertainment options than he can provide.

Their short sighted decisions are going to drive a lot of us to find another gambling/entertainment option and Royal Caribbean is going to have to raise prices of other services to their non gambling guests to maintain their revenue.

So to get me up to speed. We cruise next week. We've always booked GS even before we got invited into CR. So now, because we use the CR rate, we no longer get double points? And even though we have always gotten the "free" drinks, we won't know if we still qualify for them until we board?

Well, at least Royal is consistent. They work hard to p*** off their best passengers. We've seen the D and D+ benefits steadily decline. Now they're targeting the gamblers. Exploring MSC is sounding better and better.

I just got off the phone with Casino Royale yesterday. Haven't gotten the email but I'm positive both my wife and I will fall into the second tier. We will be boarding the Rhapsody on sunday for a B2B. They assured me that the casino host will have a list of the tier I will be in. And put the sticker on the seapass. We will be in Key West on Monday so if everything doesn't go right. They gave me another number to call.

The way the Tiers work are first tier Zero to 2499 points basically nothing. Tier two 2500 to 24999, free drinks, free cruise inside cabin. zero charge for cash advances. Some others that I'm not sure of. The next tier gets a free balcony room, and other perks. The Master tier gets a junior suite and other perks .

The certificates will remain as they are now.

Spoke with both CR (Sarah) and C&A (Tim) today. Both confirmed the "no more double points" policy and both confirmed a high level meeting between loyalty and the casino was taking place today. Tim indicated that this "issue" is the biggest deal they have going on at the moment and confirmed that many high level C&A members had begun cancelling cruises over this policy.

Sarah assured me that all of the [suite] cruises I booked prior to April 15 would receive double points. Tim would not make that same assurance to me. Tim also offered to call me when a final decision had been made.

I guess all we can do is let them know of our displeasure and then decide how we will handle it if things don't go our way.

Will our tier be determined by the points we earned in 2017?

Interesting they don't agree with each other, exactly the same yarn we were spun.

Clarification, one confirmed you would receive double points for cruises booked before 4/15/18.

So did you speak to them before they had had the meeting or after the meeting had taken place, any idea from what you were being told on this as to gauge their relative responses.
