What’s the best deal you’ve ever managed to get?

Recommended Posts

What ship and when? $2000 CAD for 4 and 9 day cruise is amazing.

Navigator, December 7 this year.

Took the recommendation from everyone here to pick the itinerary/ship you want and then watch prices like a hawk daily/weekly.

Saw the price, booked it immediately, re-priced a short time later (possibly within a week?) and it was back to "regular" prices again. Made sure to screen shot every single booking window along the way "just in case".

I forgot about that one. Same sailing in a GS for 2 $2700 free grats ($245) and $100 OBC-

I just priced that cruise and I don’t see any great deals. How did you get this rate?

I booked it in January- there was a free grats offer for Oasis class ships suites and a suite discount.

Forgot one - 5 nights on Empress in an oceanview for $450 total, $100 OBC because original cruise was cancelled, and another $112 or so credit because itinerary was changed due to engine issues. Less than $50 per day!

We "won" a free cruise many years ago from American Express Wish. It was on the pre-inaugural cruise for Allure. We only had to pay $750 for our airfare to FL. We were in our first balcony and the liquor was free flowing. It was a 3 day cruise to nowhere. We loved the ship and hope to sail on her or another of her class in the future.

We mostly prefer transatlantics. Last year we sailed on the Freedom from Barcelona for 14 days in an inside for under $1000. We prefer the inside as we'd rather spend our money in the ports but we are trying another balcony next month as it was only $45 more than the promenade.

My best deal was 7 day Med cruise in 2009. Paid $1500 total for a balcony room. I was checking prices and was shocked that the price was less than half of my original booking. I called and they credited me the difference. I called my sister immediately after the cruise line so she could get the deal & they already changed the pricing. Glitch??? Maybe, but I sure lucked out. .

My best deal is for Harmony October 13, 2018. Two bedroom aqua theater suite on deck 8 (the largest of the aqua theater suites) for 4 $8005. It was a casino rate before they changed the program. My discounts are not looking anything like that now so this will probably be my one and only time with Star Class. I’m going to take full advantage of it!!

I don't look for "deals"..I book for the time I wish to travel, at the best price I can get for that timeframe/cabin type. Then, I forget about it... vacations aren't all about $$!

That major contribution to the topic aside, I was on my best one when this thread started this time. Back in 2015 we found a pretty good deal on a D1 for a 7 day on Jewel out of San Juan. After the $500 deposit I think we owed about $700 more. After the hurricanes last fall, the prices dropped dramatically, so I had the corner aft for about $700 for both us, not including port costs and taxes. Others got upgrades, but I stuck with the corner aft.
