Portuguese tart ..... tick tick tick Sent from my iPad using Forums Thanks for the blogs Jo and Gaz, glad to see your are enjoying your adventure.:D Does everyone do the right thing in MDR on formal nights, i.e. jacket and tie for men? No such thing on our recent cruises, May/June on Sapphire and Royal. Bon Voyage to all those embarking in Southampton including our Batemans Bay friends Ray and Loretta who were also recently on Sapphire with us doing ye olde Baltics. Rare MMDown Under Posted July 23, 2018 #208 Share Posted July 23, 2018 They have left Lisbon.....next stop after 2 days at sea....Southampton via the Bay of BiscayneHalf way point :D I hope the Bay of Biscayne is kind to them. I got seasick for the first and only time cruising the Bay of Biscayne, much to my surprise - something to do with conflicting currents, I was told. NSWP Posted July 23, 2018 #209 Share Posted July 23, 2018 I hope the Bay of Biscayne is kind to them. I got seasick for the first and only time cruising the Bay of Biscayne, much to my surprise - something to do with conflicting currents, I was told. Currents from Atlantic and Med collide, causing big swells. I have been through ye olde Bay of Biscay several times, only once was it kind, other times big strong swells knocking the ships around. Kiwi_cruiser Posted July 23, 2018 Author #213 Share Posted July 23, 2018 Thanks Stu, never mind about the sail in. I can catch it in October when I do it.:D Enjoy Lisbon :) If you are looking for something to do, I recommend doing the hop on hop off bus, its a good way to get around, also to walk up/down the river is good as well (depending on where you dock). NSWP Posted July 23, 2018 #216 Share Posted July 23, 2018 Good news for them, not so entertaining for Uncle Les.:D Flat as a pancake is ye olde Bay of Biscay today. How boring for everybody. One hopes ye olde Irish Sea or Atlantic Ocean might whip up a little after leaving Southampton. The kind folk in Cobh will be preparing for Australia Day - visit of a ship load of Aussies and Kiwis, as they do.:halo: When we were in Cobh on Royal Princess a few weeks ago, no Australia Day as 90% North Americans on board, but still a bit on in the town. A local bloke has a mini bus near the wharf, taking pax for a trip around the area, very good it was.

Kiwi Kruzer Posted July 25, 2018 #222 Share Posted July 25, 2018 AIS Marine Traffic have them entering the Solent , just off Isle of White . ..as I post . Should have an early arrival in Southampton. Guess there will be a lot of supplies waiting for them to load as well as being a big turnaround and changeover day for many passengers.

The passengers boarding in Southampton must be getting excited, ready for the long cruise home for some. I hope those disembarking are prepared for the unusually hot UK summer.
