GRATUITIES on HOS

Recommended Posts

Hi!! Boarding today!!! [emoji1]

I know they automatically charge our account daily. But can they just take it out at the end if we ask or.....let us decide on what to give

They don't charge your account daily.

They take it in one lump sum. Usually day 1 or day 2.

This occurred to me during my last cruise on Anthem.

We were given notice, that on day 3, the remainder of the gratituties would be posted to our folio.

It's possible this could vary ship to ship, and or length of sailing.

Thanks for posting that. In all of our cruises since they went to the automatic gratuities we have never experienced that but we’ve never been on Anthem.

It really shouldn’t matter when it gets posted to your account. At the end of the week the amount is the same and it only gets charged at the end of the week.

When we were on Harmony last year the gratuities were posted daily to our account.

Don’t understand what difference it makes. You should budget for gratuities BEFORE you cruise. You know, at least now, the amount to set aside per person per night so that amount should already be in your budget.

When they say "posted to your account" they mean to your Rccl account. Like all things you purchase on board, specialty dinning, shore excursions, drinks, souvenirs they all go on your Rccl account and once the cruise is over, what ever is on your Rccl account gets charged to you credit card.
