Quiet Spaces

Recommended Posts

Sparsely populated places will vary from cruise to cruise. Just wander about until you find your perfect spot. During the day, most indoor areas won't have too many people....except for the casino, perhaps! If you do wish to sun without the hoards of others, go up and up...few folks go more than one deck above the pool level!

I also like quiet places and tend to gravitate towards the outside promenade decks (typically the decks under the lifeboats). Lots of shade, nice deck loungers, and you can hear the waves. It’s usually fairly quiet, but not always... makes for a nice place to people watch, too. Have fun!

I have been on this ship more than once. You will find that wherever you go on the ship, other people will tend not to attempt to strike up a conversation, even in the Promenade Cafe. In the Windjammer buffet, lots of times I have seen people solo seated at tables by the windows, with a book and cup of coffee, etc. No one will disturb you. At the most, a buffet worker will ask you if he can bring you anything. You will be in control of what little or much interaction you choose at any given time.

The Platinum Theater during the day, unless the cast is practicing or there is bingo (3/4), the Promenade deck (4), Star Lounge, unless there is an event planned (5, forward), helipad (5, extreme forward), Royal Promenade during the day (5, by Vintages and other areas), Library/Card Room (10, main elevator bank lobby), Olive or Twist during the day (14, Viking Crown Lounge) are a few places. There are always some deck areas on 11 that are not overly crowded. Plenty of places you can be by yourself.

Where you won't be able to avoid crowds will be during dinner, the Windjammer at breakfast and lunch, in the theater during shows, the Royal Promenade at night, the Casino, and the pools during sea days. Just the nature of cruising.

I have been on the Liberty of the Seas many times and I enjoy going out on deck 5. There are lounge chairs out there......we pull them up to the railing and read or just watch the water

One of my favorite things to do. You can be in the shade or pull up to the railing for a little sun. It is quiet and you don't have to listen to all the pool noise. :D
