Murder on the Elation?

With the TV on a few minutes ago, I was in the kitchen and vaguely heard on the news that a man threw his wife off the balcony. (by the time I got to the living-room, the snippet was over) Is this new or old news?

No. What was the incident?

It was a horrific accident just about 3 years ago in which an electrician was crushed to death in an elevator shaft. Very grisly and detailed video is viewable online, but I don't have the stomach for it. So sad. :(

Yikes! This is the first I'm hearing about it.

I am really confused. They say it was on the Elation, but the only balconies on the Elation are suites and there are no decks below the suites. The news says she landed 2 decks below her balcony.

What am I missing?

(I do have a bad cold today, so I really may be missing something)

Elation had balconies added during her last dry dock.

Yes, the deck she hit was two or three floors under the balcony and quite a lot of metal in the area of the fall.

I was on that cruise, playing in the casino in the wee hours of the morning when they made the emergency announcement. There was also speculation she may have hit the lifeboats outside Deck 11 and fallen back onto the ship on Deck 10.
