What can Carnival do for Birthdays?

Hi

You can purchase a cake.

If you tell them in the MDR the waiters can sing happy birthday.

Don't forget, many people are celebrating something on a cruise. One of those statistical oddities, "in a room of 75 there is a 99.9% of two people having the same birthday". There are typically a lot of Happy Birthday's being sung. :)

If you don't want to purchase a "special" cake, they do have a lot of cake on the menus.

have a great cruise

I’m being serious here. Within the past 10 mins two people on my next cruise posted that they are celebrating birthdays on the cruise. I wonder how carnival handles it if 1,000 people want to celebrate something. Seems like a lot to deal with.

The couple we were traveling with on our last cruise was celebrating an anniversary. We had asked the waiter to get them a bottle of champagne with dinner. They went all out for us, didn't charge us an arm and a leg.

Check the prices on some of those celebration packages they offer, they can be pretty steep.

I sailed the week before my birthday, did not mention it to anyone, nor did I add that anyone was celebrating a birthday, anniversary, etc on my checkin documents. One morning there was a “Happy Birthday” card in my room from my room steward with a “gift card” for $12 credit on photos.

They will give you a slice of cake and sing happy birthday if you let the mdr servers know....

my aunt celebrated her 50th birthday and I purchased her the birthday package at the funshop online. It included a 9" birthday cake, birthday decorations and a gift bag. It cost $54 plus a $8 setup/delivery fee. You can get the cake by itself for $14. The room decorations and gift bag was $40 by itself. They were able to get about 15-20 slices out of the cake... I think theres a smaller and cheaper cake available if you dont have many people in your group.

You can have them to deliver the cake to their cabin or the mdr. The servers will deliver it towards the end of dinner.

When my family was cruising on the Dream in 2015, my DS had planned to propose to his GF on the cruise. He chose to propose on elegant night in the MDR after all of our family had left. It was special, that on this evening, the photographers were coming around taking pics of everyone and were able to capture the special moment for them! Of course, she said yes!

DW has made it quite clear to me that if I ever have any servers sing Happy Birthday to her it will be the end of my life as I know it. Our steward did provide DW with a gift card for the spa for her birthday that occurred the previous month but we didn't use it because it would have cost too much.

My husband celebrated his birthday on our last cruise. They gave him a card with a $50 spa credit. It had a lot of restrictions (i.e had to be on port day, had to be for spa not salon). He used it on a men’s facial. He never had one before and absolutely loved it. So much so he wants to do it again. [emoji23]

Carnival does this automatically if your birthday falls on a day that your are sailing. You might want to make sure that you never sail on her birthday if this is the case. Or that she knows that it’s automatic.

They know when it is your birthday, it is recorded with your identification.

My friend's birthday is two weeks after sailing and we are celebrating with a cruise. Would Carnival do anything special for his birthday, such as OBC or a cake?

Never OBC and everything else like a piece of cake, singing, gift cards are a big "maybe". If you want something special, you can order it thru the FunShops. The cakes are very good.

we always sail during my birthday...except this year (otherwise we would be on it now). I have received a small frosted cake with a candle on it in the MDR and the waiter and the other helpers sang me happy birthday. I have also received gift cards for a free 8X10 photo, a free bottle of wine (upto I think $24) & $50 off selected spa service from our room steward.

My husband got a small cake and a song in the MDR for his birthday and for our anniversary we got a cake and they made us kiss non stop for a long period of time. LOL!!! When we booked we indicated both times what we were celebrating.
