cruisekitty22 Posted September 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 20, 2018 Is there an Adults Only area of this ship? What is the age allowed in there if there is one? Are there hot tubs in this area? Are kids allowed in here? How much is it to use the therapy pool in the Solarium?
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 20, 2018 The Solarium IS the adults only area. No charge to use the pools. Yes, there are hot tubs. Not sure if the age is 16 or 18 (or 21). EM
AmberCascades Posted September 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2018 The T pool is free. I believe there is an age restriction. I'm not sure about that, but I don't recall ever seeing kids in it.
Rare cruisestitch Posted September 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 20, 2018 In inclement weather the Captain may institute “Family hours” but otherwise children are not allowed in the thalasso pool and hot tubs.
wwcruisers Posted September 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 20, 2018 OP -- you're going to love the Solarium on Infinity! There are fresh-water hot tubs, as well as the T-pool -- which is like a giant salt-water hot tub. And, the whole Solarium is adults only. I don't believe that Infinity currently is sailing to Alaska (that's where the family-day bad weather exception most often applies).

wwcruisers Posted September 21, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2018 Is there any chlorine in the salt-water pools or hot tubs? Definitely chlorine in the fresh-water hot-tubs. Don't think there is any in the big salt-water T-pool. If there is, it's not enough to smell.

Duanerice1 Posted September 21, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 21, 2018 Haven't been on M class in a while but I sure do miss the Tpool. Just loved that pool. Hankering to get back on one just for that!

Barwick Cruiser Posted September 21, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 21, 2018 AMEN! I LOVE that T-pool, but it is a bathing-suit killer, for sure! Great advice, Hcat! Not sure why, but I always travel with a few different suits and have never had one ruined by either the T-pool, S class solarium pool or the hot tubs. I do rinse off under the fresh water showers after exiting any of those and do wash my suits out after each use...maybe that's the trick?

I do rinse off under the fresh water showers after exiting any of those and do wash my suits out after each use...maybe that's the trick? I hit the fresh water showers frequently, and wash our suits out with Woolite, as soon as we return to the cabin. Wish I could say that did the trick! :loudcry: The hot salt/mineral water of the T-pool doesn't seem to 'eat' the lycra out of my suits, so much as it FADES the colors. DH's red cotton trunks are now more of a hot pink, after several T-pool exposures, lol!
Rare hcat Posted September 22, 2018 #16 Share Posted September 22, 2018 It even kills the chlorine resistant suits. I am not one of thise who have been lucky, I guess! The place where I buy many of my suits says Woolite and det isnt too great for them either...They rec rinsing and washing with cool water and a small amt of reg soap, if needed. Temps are not consistent in Solarium pools.,.Once on Infinity, the ship had just returned ftom Alaska & they ran it at same temp as a hot tub.,It was awful and often empty yet they refused to adjust the temp, We have seen posted fam swim hrs for late afternoon into early dinner hr.. but overall it is nice to have an adult pool area. hvbaskey Posted September 22, 2018 #21 Share Posted September 22, 2018 For our December 2017 Holiday Cruise - Family Hours were posted 4 PM - 6 (or 7) PM on a daily basis. Although, I never really saw the family hours enforced - but that was a “special” cruise ;)
