elycelynne Posted September 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2018 Do U.S. cellular companies consider Hawaii domestic or international? I'm well aware that Hawaii is a state, but since it's pretty far from the mainland I wasn't sure about calls and data.
cruzn single Posted September 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2018 I have Verizon and use it every year as domestic. Sure that all major US carriers also consider it the same.
CruiserBruce Posted September 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2018 Have used ATT in Hawaii for at least 20 years. Domestic. Distance doesn't matter...
elycelynne Posted September 27, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted September 27, 2018 Thanks! So I assume that I can use it on the ship as long as the ship is docked like anywhere else in the US, correct?
CruiserBruce Posted September 27, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 27, 2018 Thanks! So I assume that I can use it on the ship as long as the ship is docked like anywhere else in the US, correct? Correct. Also, for some carriers (AT&T in our case), same as in St Thomas and San Juan, which are not states.
papaflamingo Posted September 29, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2018 When you turn on your cell phone, look in the corner at the "carrier" it's hooked up to. If it's yours, i.e att or verizon, then you are good to go. If it's a carrier that you don't recognize, could be a roaming charge. But Hawaii, as mentioned, should be your local carrier.
