There is an issue. No one can re board until everyone has cleared customs. After over five hours about 30 have not cleared

Today has been our first “ugh” of the trip - and I know it has nothing to do with NCL and everything to do with US immigration. It took us over an hour to get off the ship this morning - and we were fortunate to be in the first group called! It was very slow going and nowhere to sit, etc! A few around us were panicking as they had Alcatraz tickets and no way of knowing if they would make their tour time!

re-board?

do you mean leave the ship?

and what was the cause of the immigration delay?

I don’t know if this is true but the rumor circulating is that two people “hid” and kept the ship from being cleared. This prevented people to get back aboard since no one could return until the ship was completely cleared

I was tempted by the Bliss going to LA for $300 for a solo, or the first Mexico trip for $500 for a solo, but instead chose October 27 out of LA. Tropical Storm Rosa just blew through Baja California and dumped record rains in Arizona, so hopefully that won't impact the Bliss next week.

I'm also excited to see the Joy will be doing the Mexico route from late November 2019 to April 2020 (going elsewhere during February), so that should give some excellent prices for West Coast solo travelers like me--in the past, NCL has had the most expensive Mexico cruises for solos. Carnival is also going to have the megaship Panorama doing Mexico year-round, which should also put downward pressure on Mexico cruise prices, so I'm looking forward to lots of enjoyable winter escapes there.

San Francisco is a city of ouryesteryears. Noreen and and I met and married in college. We lived inBerkeley. We were golden then. Still are.

The harbor pilot climbed aboard whilethe Bliss was 11 miles out at sea. We sailed under the Golden Gate atdawn. The city is beautiful, still.

It is Fleet Week we walked 1.89 milesalong the Embarcadero to see the USS Bonhomme Richard. Iasked our guide “Why does this ship have a French name?” She onlyanswered that it was the 3rdUS ship so named. I asked the Osprey pilot about the improvementsmade to make the craft less crash prone. He said it is largelycomputer flown now. Marines showed us various weapons. I played withguns.

Ohwhat a night. Saw Jersey Boys. At the finale, the audience stood, applauded and danced. Don't miss this show We will watch it again .

We also got off the Bliss today! We were in the Haven so we were floored by the beauty of this ship! The forward elevators are terrible!!!! That was my only complaint about the ship if anything. We had such a great time.

Being in the Haven - for ports and disembarkation were you escorted off the ship via a staff or service elevator rather than the regular ones?

I heard that they have removed the loungers on the observation lounge and replaced them with comfy chairs and curved sofas making it difficult for people to sleep and drool all over them. Is that true?

If so, I am glad they did.

My daughter is on the Bliss now and sent me a picture of them on the lounges. I did notice that they had what looked to be towels at the foot of the lounge chairs.

Went to see the Prohibition show. Bad news is the price was raised to $35.99 per person. The good news is that it's worth it. It's good and naughty. The audience participates and loves it.

On the observation lounge chairs, most of the ones people were sleeping on were removed but not all.
