Smoking Cannabis

That's a possibility, but while it is known Cannabis cannot really permanent damage one, it can be overwhelming when you have had too much.   Just like when one drinks too much they may puke it out, the body many give those that partake in to much of the edibles the urge to expel it from their systems.   Unlike smoking or vaping, the edibles can take several hours to even provide a buzz,  in the meantime one expecting a quick buzz will likely over indulge in triplicate to try and attain the same effect.  I enjoy a variety of chemicals from the 70's but never had a bad trip until  recently tried a "legal" edible brownie, did not fill the effect and tried another.    This after being clean for decades.   I did not think I would live through the night with my only hope knowing that Cannabis has never been know to hurt one.

You spent money for the cruise, enjoy it, why through away 12 to 18 hours having an overdose of Cannabis blow your mind.  Try the Cannabis when you get back home or visit a state on land that has already legalized it.

Well I am an old crumgeon now, having people just leave me alone is most gratifying, however when young having fun with variety of substances was way to go.

Keep in mind, the strength of the product, whether it’s edibles or smoke, may be much stronger than the “illegal” smoker is used to.  We just had family members come back from Jamaica.  They had bought some edibles at their resort and tried them - didn’t realize it takes a while for the effect to hit, so tried some more - and the outcome was not pleasant.  I heard second-hand, but what I heard was one of them got really sick to her stomach, the other just “had too much” which was not pleasant.  So even if you partake legally, you need to keep this in mind.

But again....just don’t risk unpleasant legal outcomes by bringing it aboard.  Not worth the consequences, and that includes edibles.  Just partake ashore, and don’t overdo.

I've known a few people trying edibles that have had those experiences. I actually saw a bag of cannabis caramel popcorn that said the average dose would be three kernels of popcorn. I don't know about you, but I would never stop at three kernels of caramel popcorn! That popcorn is actually illegal in California now because it had more than 100mg in the package of edibles.

You have to wait a couple of hours for the dope to get digested and into your system with edibles. Smoking or vaping is much, much faster so the person can adjust without getting too high.

The good news is that no one has died from an overdose of cannabis directly. You can have panic attacks, paranoia, stomach upset (I throw up with cannabis based on my experience in my youth), etc. But you won't die (unless you drive, fall off a pier, etc.)

2 cabins this week down the hall from me were caught smoking pot. The first cabin 2 woman were thrown off the Escape on Tuesday during the medical evacuation and the 2nd cabin got caught on Saturday so they were going to be arrested yesterday when the ship came into NY.

The 2 getting arrested in NY got off easy because the other 2 at the very least got arrested Tuesday, got a fine from Bermuda that must be paid before leaving the island. Add in emergency passport fees (if they boarded with DL/BC) then add in hotel and airline tickets to get back to NY. That was no dime bag, more like a $2000 bag.

I bet if you ask them it was not worth it and they should have stuck with the beverage package.

If someone chooses to smoke so be it, just don't infringe on my/others rights not to smell it on our balcony. The smell can be significant.

Casino Comp Chick just gave a very valid reason/situation about why NOT to imbibe.

It is a "risk" and "reward" situation and we all know the old saying " It won't happen to me". I won't get caught.

As i say to my kids "nobody gets up in the morning and says 'I'm going to ...(have an accident, get arrested, xxx - fill in the bad thing) today'"!

Especially on cruises to pot-legal ports, why in the world take that kind of risk when you can just spend your time in port smoking, having edibles, or whatever your form of choice is, with ZERO legal risk!?  it's just plain DUMB in my opinion to take that kind of chance.  If you require altered consciousness to make  your vacation special, like casinochick says, drink up!
