bury me at sea Posted October 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2018 I have gone totally brain dead and can't remember whether lobster is served the first or second formal night on a seven day cruise. Would someone help me? Thanks.

bury me at sea Posted October 21, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted October 21, 2018 Thanks to you both. Trying to decide if we want to do the steakhouse next cruise, and suddenly couldn't remember when the lobster was served.

Carnival dropped the term formal some years ago and replaced it with elegant.

meatloafsfan Posted October 22, 2018 #11 Share Posted October 22, 2018 Carnival is first elegant night. Royal Caribbean and Disney - second formal night (well, on Disney it's the semi-formal night but still the second of the dress-up nights).
dmdiver Posted October 22, 2018 #12 Share Posted October 22, 2018 It's always been the first elegant night, which is the Captain's night where you can get your pic with the Captain. I wish they would serve lobster on both elegant nights.

dmdiver Posted October 22, 2018 #15 Share Posted October 22, 2018 Well, yeah, I meant the free lobster. I started to clarify that, but for some reason I didn't. Lol, I get by with a little help from my friends.

Moviela Posted October 22, 2018 #17 Share Posted October 22, 2018 I am not sure why it is not lobster every night. Right now Maine is up to their hips in lobster because China has stopped buying. China slapped a 25% tariff on the delicious crustaceans because they want to continue the unfair trade practices that have been taking advantage of Americans for fifty years. Lobster is now down from almost $11/lb earlier this year to $3.50/lb. Any cruise line could have it on the menu daily and still protect the pantry budget.
