Best way to watch for price drops now that Fare Viewer is gone (and the CF fish too?)

Hey all, I have 2 cruises booked for 2019.  We booked them back in July and August, and I just realized that I have not been watching the fares at all for price drops.   So now I go to do so, and lucky me...Fare Viewer is gone forever.  I was going to set up alerts on the CF site that is fishy, even if they are 99 cents each, but according to some posts on their home page, it looks like the fish might be dead, too.    I realize I can do a mock booking, but there are three separate bookings I'm monitoring, so it's kind of a pain.

Any other options out there (even for a nominal fee?).   No travel agent...we booked directly with Carnival.   Thanks!

Yes, a mock booking will do the job...it's just that fare viewer was much quicker/easier (which is, I believe, exactly why Carnival got rid of it!).  And the site I'm not permitted to name would auto-track it for you.  Alas...off to run my mock bookings.

I'm not sure what the rules are about sharing links here, so put these four words together to make an address.
Cruise
Line

Dot

Com
You can search for a cruise there (all different lines) and sign up for email updates for price changes.  I have no idea if it works or not, but I read some other users that got good results.  I always used the CF,  but I like you just found CF died after booking 7 cabins for a family cruise in 2020.  I need all the help I can get.

And I'm mock booking every other day... reminder in my Outlook calendar... what a waste of time...

Doing mock bookings for the 4 cruises we currently have booked is so laborious! :classic_sad:

I often just bag it, which is what Carnival is counting on, I know!

Someone said they call CCL and ask them about price drops -- anybody tried that? I was a little skeptical when I heard.

I decided to hunker down and get serious about doing some mock bookings.  So I built a spreadsheet to have all my booking numbers, cabin classes, etc in one easy place (Yeah, I know it's only three bookings...but I love a good spreadsheet).   It looked like one of my bookings had about an $87 drop.  Out of sheer laziness, I emailed my PVP rather than just submitting the form online.  He called me back right away.  This booking was for DH's cabin with 2 of my daughters.  DH spends some pretty serious time in the casino.   He had a casino offer that the PVP could see, and could apply to this booking.  Cut the price by $200 and gives him $1000 in casino cash!!!!   SO....it was a very good day!!!!

My new recommendation is mock bookings + a PVP!!!

You may want to recheck that fishy site again.  Seems to be up and running.

Domergirl, we have a spreadsheet as well - booking numbers, cabin numbers, class, fare.  Then it goes on to show each day - whether at sea or in port, what port, what times we are in port and what excursions we are doing with the cost.  There are calculations showing what has been paid & what is still due.  Also, spots for parking, gas, air, projected onboard expenses, cash needed, etc.

It is dead. The site may technically be up but the Carnival price watching is totally broke. There has been no feedback from the site owner in probably more than a year now.

A real shame as it was a great resource in the past.
