For Diamond level, the internet benefit is 1 free day or a $25.99 credit for a package.  Can this be applied to a pre-purchased internet package?  You can frequently get a discount if you purchase an internet package prior to sailing.

C&A internet discount can only be applied to an onboard purchase.

Confirmed with LA, "Special Value" as stated in the youth letter means that youth get the same as adults for that tier.

Youth Diamond = 1 day pass of Surf or discount for ship plans onboard

Youth Diamond Plus = 2 days of Surf or discount for ship plans onboard

Excellent.  With 3 kids that gives my wife and I 10 days of internet to use.

I just spoke with the LA onboard to ensure I understood it correctly.

My first question was regarding age for "youth" as defined by the CAS.

A. Youth is any age 17 and under.  Could be a 2 year old or 6, 8 or 15 year old, etc.  Anything below 18.

I gave an example of a D+ family.  She confirmed that a D+ youth is eligible for drink vouchers (non-alcoholic)  and Voom days.  She also said that a youth D drink vouchers can be applied for a JR milkshake.

She then brought up the scenario of Pinnacle youth.  In my mind this would be a very small subset since dependent youth do not convey Pinnacle status, only a dependent spouse, or so I thought.  Nope.  Pinnacle youth now get free internet like their Pinnacle parents she told me.  She had a Pinnacle youth on board four cruises ago and confirmed they were given Pinnacle benefits but not the points.  Once they turn 18 their own "Individual" points kick back in and that will be their level on board.

Thanks for all the great detail.  Much appreciated.  This will help my wife and I stay in touch better without having to buy the internet package.  We weren’t gonna buy it either way, but it is nice to know we can use the kids internet to stay in touch if we are doing separate things.

I've seen this vary by ship with my kids.

Both are over 18 yet they get the youth letter in their room.  On some ships they have been able to get the free Diamond photo and others they haven't.  Don't really pay attention to any of the other coupons as they only use the drinks which are not an issue.  My wife just likes to use their free photo.

I hope it's okay to ask this here: we will be sailing our first Diamond cruise for NYE. It will be my 15 year old's first cruise, but I know he can get "grandfathered" into our status. Is there a way to do this before the cruise so he can receive the youth perks, or do I have to wait until we're on the ship and visit a C&A membership rep to get his status updated?

Call the CAS at 1-800-526-9723. The sooner the better.

I believed that when a "youth" turns 18, they keep the status that they had "inherited", but must use their own points to attain the next level.  So, for example, a 17 year old emerald points on their own, but the parents were Diamond+.  Once the youth turned 18, they would maintain Diamond+ status forever, but would only be able to advance to the next status level (pinacle) and have to go all the way from emerald.  I had thought that a youth that had pinacle status from the parents would only drop down back to Diamond+ once he turned 18 (the last inheritable level), not all the way back to emerald status.

Exactly maybe, 50% of the time.

It's not documented in the T&Cs so different guests have reported it both ways.  Typical Royal, like lightning, rarely the same twice.

Updating in case anyone else has a similar question: Called the above number and the rep helped me get my kiddo setup with a C&A number, and also connected it to our upcoming sailing so he could receive the perks!

Sailing on Oasis in 6 days, first time on RCL but we're Diamond via Celebrity reciprocity. From the most recent letters posted in this thread, it seems the "chef's choice gift" is back... As I'm new to RCL, what is that? I assume it's something small like a plate of fruit in your stateroom or similar, but just wanted to check.

Also, does anyone know if the milestone recognition and/or signature lapel pin would apply to Diamond status via Celebrity?

You will get a pin for being diamond. You can visit the LA while onboard and she/he can give you your pins if they aren't in your cabin on embarkation day. Chef's choice snacks, rice crispy snacks. 😁

Diamond drinks pretty much include anything either with or without alcohol.  We have gotten virgin pina coladas, strawberry dacquiris etc and Heineken 0 as diamond drinks.  Had on left one night and got a can of coke to take back to our stateroom.

When we turned Diamond we dropped our usual refreshment package and purchased the soda package instead at quite a savings.  Also bought a 24 pack of bottled water.

Thanks everyone for posting the perks.
We are on Diamond status and trying to find if a non-alcoholic package would work with the 4 free coupons for alkoholic drinks per day.
Does anyone have experience on how or if that works?

Yes - you can get a  non alcohol package and use your 4 drinks for alcohol.    When you get your non alcohol drink, tell the server/bartender that you are using the package, or they will charge it against your 4 drinks.

If using the offer as a diamond plus for speciality dining, is it 2 adults for the price of 1 or is it 2 different speciality restaurants for the price of 1 and do you have to dine on either day 1 or 2.

thanks

Not sure i completely understand your difference,  but two go to a restaurant and only pay for 1 cover charge.    If you both have an offer, you use the other another night.  Some ships require you to dine on the first or second night and others just require you to reserve and PAY by the second night.  Ask at the restaurant.

So is this the deal:  These offers are ship-specific, and you can't be sure of what (if anything) you'll get until you're in your room?

We were on Explorer last week, and we received a letter in our cabin on the first day saying we were eligible for the following discounts -- by the way, we are lowly Gold status:

50% off any glass wine, beer or soda (two coupons per sailing)

50% off any Johnny Rocket's milkshake (two coupons per sailing)

25% off any coffee beverage

10% off any wine, beer or soda by the glass

Buy a bingo package, get one free jackpot card

10% off any internet package

$2 free play (casino slot machine)

Buy one, get one 50% off photo

10% off RCCL logo products (must spend $25)

10% off any spa service (excluding medi-spa)

My husband and I are pretty thrifty, so we were very excited by these discounts, but we found the staff wasn't well informed about them, and they weren't enforced equally.  Our experiences:

- My husband used his two 50% off beers on Day 1.

- On day 2 I ordered my first cocktail at the Pool Bar and asked to use one of my 50% offs -- received it.  I genuinely didn't realize that the 50% offs were only for wine, beer or soda.

- I used my second 50% off for my husband to have a beer, and we thought to ourselves, "Those were nice, but now they're gone."

- We read the paper as, "All the beer you order will be 10% off", but my husband was embarrassed to ask for that in the dining room for some reason -- so he didn't get it.  But he'd ask at a bar.  He can be that way sometimes.

- On maybe Day 5, I ordered a cocktail at the Windjammer bar, and I asked for the 10% off -- the bartender said, "That's the 20% crew discount?"  I wasn't trying to cheat anyone, so I said, "No, 10% for Gold status".  He gave me 20%.  Okay, thanks.

- Same day I ordered a cocktail at the Pool Bar, and again asked for 10% off.  This bartender pointed out to me that the discount wasn't good on cocktails -- but he said, "But you still have a 50% off a wine, beer or soda left."  I know I didn't, but I hurried up and bought my husband a 50% off beer.  Okay, maybe I WAS trying to cheat.

- Last night on the cruise I bought my husband a beer at the Windjammer bar, and I asked for the 10% discount -- the bartender said, "Yes, you still have one discount left for today."  What I typed above is exactly what the paper said -- no mention of "per day".

TOTALLY DISJOINTED EXECUTION.  Don't get me wrong:  I was thrilled to get a discount at all, and I'm not complaining in any way, but it was odd.  Back in the dark ages, we used to get a coupon book -- actual paper book -- and that was more straightforward.  But I got more discounts with this new system.

Can anyone on a ship, soon to go on a ship or just back but saved your papers, upload a recent version of these leaflets? Pretty please?

I'm mostly interested in the Youth one, but I'm sure all of them would be helpful to different people if you are able!
