Concierge, Michael'sclub

In my experience the suite Manager or suite concierge has never met suite guest at check in.   They are very busy in Michael's Club awaiting your arrival.   I have not yet traveled through the new Terminal 25.

If in a CS or Above they have a staff member escort you from check in to Michael's Club.   For RS and above they have a separate luggage drop off area and a representative that meets you curbside and escorts your to Checkin and then a different staff escorts you to Michael's Club.

Thanks Jim_Iain,

We are in CS, so I presume. from what you say,  someone will meet us in check-in?  Is this correct? Will the staff member make himself known to us?

Very excited now as although we have cruised for many years, we have never had a suite. This is for our 40th wedding anniversary.

Thank you xx

As Jim said there is an escort for CS and above and Zenith level loyalty passengers. This may depend on the port and staff availability. Last time DW and I were escorted by the Shop Manager. Usually someone in Captain's Club or Guest Relations. If you are in a Suite and not escorted you can go directly to Michael's Club.

Thanks for the input.   We have always traveled in CS and above and in March we will be traveling in AQ for the first time as a Zenith.   I wasn't expecting the escort.   As you said the escorts we have had are from all over the ship.   We have had Sommeliers, Future Cruise Managers and Guest Relations staff.

Dont care who it is, its a nice gesture!  Will they make themselves known to us at check-in?

We usually cruise in a CS or above and whilst we have always had an escort it has only once been a Michael's Club Concierge. That has in no way detracted from the experience and we have usually been taken by a different entrance to the ship and the escorts seem to have a magic elevator key that gives them priority.

We have always liked this little touch and it gets the cruise of to the right start😎

Yes -  When you check in, the agent will summon an escort for you and he will take you from the check in desk to Michael's Club -  often expediting you through security.

Yes I remember ....I seem to recall your T shirt proclaiming you suffer from Obsessive Cruising Disorder....🤣

You will enjoy the Sweet suite life.

I think we are on the cruise before you in Iceland so I'll Keep Michael's warm for you....

Thanks  all for taking the time to answer my queries. Happy cruising!

Just an and finally...

Make sure you let your butler know if you want any snacks delivering to your room, daily. He will arrange cheese plates, fruit plates, shrimp platter etc..Also remember you can request a range of pillow types etc.

Early in your cruise let the concierge know if you would like a bridge tour or a galley tour.

Once we made a huge error.... we put out folder from the check-in, in my pocket. (see how I share the blame!) and upon embarking the ship we were totally ignored. Still, we took ourselves to Michael's Club and we were soon in Heaven!

So, show the crew your colour-coded wallet with your documentation!

Enjoy!

Does anyone know if the concierge still meets suite guests at check-in.

This is our first suite and we are looking for all the info we can get on the benefits and downfalls of a suite.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There are no downfalls to a suite, except next cruise you will want a better suite 😍😍

Our last cruise was in an RS, as is our next. I suspect that a PJ is beyond our means.. But one can dream

Where do I get the colour-coded wallet from? Is it sent before embarkation or given upon embarkation?

Given to you as you check in, it is just a small card wallet with your sea passes and concierge’s card in.

I think they tried this at the very start but had to abandon it very quickly. The only once the concierge met the guests in our experience was last year on the first of the cruises that Silhouette went from Miami. We had to move from the Eclipse which was at terminal G to Terminal F which was where the Silhouette was berthing after it had disembarked all the passengers from its previous cruise at Fort Lauderdale. All the suite guests were in a separate room and the concierge met everyone there as boarding was delayed. The higher suites were taken on board and then everyone else followed on. At least we all walked past the queue to board which was massive.
