Hi Guys

Just a quick one need some advice on what clothing is a definite to NZ in November we are doing the Sounds, Dunedin, Wellington, Napier and Picton

Pack layers. It will be cool. Take a good rain jacket, plus a warm hat, gloves and scarf for the scenic cruising. Inside the ship you should be OK with lighter clothing though.

You've got to be prepared for all weathers in NZ. On a December 2015 we had 30C in Akaroa and 14C next day in Dunedin, and there is less chance of getting high temps in November.

We've done NZ twice in November, the first time was sunny and warm every day, the second was showers/rain and got colder the further south we travelled. Layers is the best advice, with the top layer being a lightweight windproof/showerproof jacket with hood.

we did the sounds in November and it was freezing, as was Wellington, but another port (Picton if memory serves) was very warm.

We were there in November last year. Sounds were cold to start with - think puffer jacket, glove, scarf. By 11am, the sun was out and outer layers were taken off. Later in day jacket etc were back on. 

 

We had lovely weather for the rest of the NZ ports - shorts, 3/4 pants and t shirts ans caps.

 

Layers are the key.

We always say in the south to expect 4 seasons in a day. In other words be prepared for any weather!
