Call this number: 1-844-525-0942 it's a team for the Ocean Navigator, they will take all of your information, your problem(s) and pass it along to the Ocean Ready Team.  It may take a while but they will make every effort to correct the problem.  It took me three weeks of calling but, they finally got my app up and running.  Be patience, it's a new app, quite complex, but they will get you up and running.  Good Luck.

I've been having problems too.  It doesn't recognize my reservation numbers (tried 3 of them many times to no avail).  I called the number but didn't have time to wait to get it corrected.  Will have to do sometime soon I guess.

Is your reservation number your booking number, if not where do you find your reservation number? I've been adding my booking number and it.

I thought (could be wrong) that the reservation number and the booking number are one in the same.  Whenever I've spoken to Princess staff, they've always asked for the booking number which is a 6-digit number.

That's what I thought also. It doesn't work when I use it in the app though.

Pickles is right.  We called for a month and they just told us that tech would call.  They didn't at first then finally called and gave us a new password.  We made them stay on the line while we tried it.  It didn't work.  They tried and it didn't work.  They finally got it to work, but setting it up taking photos of passport and ourselves was tedious.  Not as easy as I expected.  Then at the end it said we had to print a copy but we couldn't figure it out.  Said we can't get on the ship without the copy.  We just got the medalions but now not sure they will let us on the ship. Our whole family is very tech savvy but this is a real challenge.  I am going to wait a few years to cruise with Princess again so they can improve this.

It’s not surprising to me that the Ocean Ready app is buggy because that describes the entire MedallionClass implementation.  It’s been over 14 months since the Regal was scheduled to be their first ship to have MedallionClass operational after highly touting its November 2017 debut.

Unfortunately our family group sailing the Royal in late April will probably have to deal with this buggy app & system.  We’ll wait awhile to hopefully have a reliable app but the uncertainty of what we’ll experience isn’t a good way to prepare for our long awaited cruise together.  I’m easily the most experienced Princess passenger of our group & hope to have some accurate answers to give them.

It’s impossible to predict how the current variable experiences will be closer to sailing.  This will be their first Princess cruise for many of our group & hopefully the MedallionClass experience & app will be reliable before then.  Unfortunately we’ll probably be stuck with an unreliable system that continues to use passengers as beta testers.

The app simply doesn't work at all for me.  I've downloaded it from the app store, go to enter my profile, get through the first page and it drops me out and back to my phone's home screen.  I've deleted it, reinstalled it, - no luck.  It's pretty much a waste of time.

Are you downloading the app called “MedallionClass”? It’s the newest one that now houses the OceanReady component.

If you are trying to link your booking number to the app and you are sailing on the Ruby Princess on January 27th, 2020, the Ruby won’t be actually recognized in the system until the sailing date as it is still being outfitted for its Maiden voyage as a MedallionClass  ship.

App is very buggy...has been...still is.  I just kept trying, often weeks apart.  Finally it accepted my information.  No easy task from this end.  😂

For our October 2019 cruise it was very, very buggy for a lot of people and for some not at all.  Any time the Medallionnet desk was open … was really just a kiosk in the same hall as photography and no always manned … there was a long line needing assistance.

I'm hoping they can get the bugs out.  Ocean Ready is pre-cruise.  MedallionClass is the app you use onboard which is really just a place for you to access the rest of the apps that are supposed to be the nifty part of the new system … Journey View which is the new activities calendar/planner, Ocean Now which is your onboard order form for like cabin room service and drink packages, Ocean Compass which is the ship map and shipmate chat and locator, Ocean Concierge which is all things money, Play Ocean (games), and Ocean Casino (adult games).

Our experience was that not only do you have to download Medallionnet, but all of the other apps as well and do it what you still have wifi capability or you will find nothing works.

There is no "Medallionnet" app.  Medallion Net is what Princess calls their modern ship-wide internet system accessed via Wifi connection.  The only app that is required to be downloaded now is the new Medallion Class app which (finally - hoorah) incorporates what used to be all separate apps (Ready, Compass, Now, etc).  In fact, some of the old apps have been removed from the Play Store.  (Probably just a wording issue in the paragraph quoted).

The suggestion to download the app before the ship sails makes sense as you won't have free internet to download it so you can use the apps and ship wifi.  That said, there might be a work-around if you go to <shipname>.princess.com in your browser which gives access to ship's intranet and then you may be able to order an internet package - or at least have the Internet Cafe put it on your account.  IDK for sure, but certainly it is advisable to install Medallion Class well before cruising for the check-in process.

I did notice a change recently.  The Ocean.com website used to have a login option where you could create an account, log in, input all your information, upload documents, etc.  I did all that, and everything seemed fine.  After I downloaded the Medallion app onto my phone, I couldn't get the two systems (the app and the website) to connect with one another.  Each thought that I was a separate person. I worked with the tech people for over a month as they couldn't figure out what the problem was. (And it was a problem because the app wouldn't recognize my email because "some other person" had already registered that email in the system.) A couple of days ago I got a call from the tech center and they said that they had fixed the problem, but had to reset my password.  I logged back on to the app, and everything seems to be OK.  But today I went to the Ocean.com website and lo and behold, the option to log in (which used to be at the upper right of the screen) is gone.  Now, the website simply gives you information about the system but does not allow you to access your account or add information.  That all has to be done through the app. At least right now, anyway.  So perhaps they realized that the website and the app were not behaving well in the sandbox and disabled the website's access to individuals' accounts. Just a guess as I am not "techie" in any sense.  But I do know that 3 days ago I could log onto my Medallion account on the website, and today that option is gone.

Semantics aside the MedallionNet/MedallionClass app and all of its "parts" must be downloaded and set up prior to embarkation day, or before you lose your fast internet access.  You can be "ocean ready" and have the "Medallion app" downloaded but when you try and activate the "parts" of the "Medallion app" you'll find it can't do it until it downloads the part you want to use.

For example:  People were "Ocean Ready" and had the "Medallion app" downloaded and installed and even set up; however, if they tried to use "Ocean Compass" it wouldn't work until you downloaded the "Ocean Compass app" which might not have been possible because of (1) the number of people online on the ship slowing down the connection or (2) your phone requiring a faster connection on a recognized as safe service before they would download anything new.  And I also heard iPhones work better than Androids on Medallion Net/App because some of the Android and non-iPhone services require permissions that only the computer people on Princess seem to know how to approve.  We have iPhones so I don't know exactly what the problem was as we didn't experience it, I simply heard multiple people in the International Café waiting for the computer help desk to open complaining that their Androids would not work with the apps.

I had no problem setting up and using the app beyond the normal at-sea glitchiness of any of Princess' apps/internet access.  My husband who has the exact same iPhone as I do had a completely different experience with the apps and connection.  The only difference was that I was using my 250 free minutes and he was using the unlimited streaming service but both were Princess products.  I could usually clear up the problems by waiting until we were in port, getting off airplane mode, and then deleting and re-downloading whatever app/part was throwing fits.
