sandancer Posted January 3, 2021 #1001 Share Posted January 3, 2021 First time we ever ate in a Speciality Restaurant was Portofino many years ago. Before that we were of the school of “we’ve already paid for the food on this cruise etc etc). Boy were we wrong, since then we have eaten 2 or 3 times in the upcharge restaurants on every cruise. Still remember that first dinner in Portofino as the best though.
JBSteelerfan Posted January 3, 2021 #1002 Share Posted January 3, 2021 I wish we had tried Portofino on one of our earlier cruises. We were always in the group of not paying extra for specialty dining early on, and now regret it with all we have heard about that restaurant. Oh well....live and learn. That's what I was thinking, we actually didn't care for Giovonnis the one time we ate there....lol. I'm probably gonna stick with Main dining room & the buffett anyway on this cruise We will mix it up. Doing B2B...so will have time to try a few things.
csnarpy Posted January 3, 2021 #1004 Share Posted January 3, 2021 Portofinos was by far one of my favorites. I have never had a better Tiramisu to this day.

I messaged the Royal HVAC employee who's at the Meyer ship yard. See if he knows. Maybe it'll be at the aft end of the outdoor area under the North Star. Yes, D+ were kicked out on ships that ORIGINALLY had CLs and still do. But another thing you also don't understand is I sail suites...so am I kicked out? I am only stating facts, no personal experience. I don't know why you are still on that anyway. It wasn't that long ago that Ds were kicked out of the CL. Sheer growing numbers forcing RCI hands to do so. What does it matter if the sign on the door says CL or SL...it's the same bottom line...the same set up. Odyssey has so much more to her than your lounge. Maybe it's time for you to get out and take a look around the rest of the ship. 😉 OK...back to subject. I am really enjoying these pictures and really looking forward to my first B2B a year from now on the new beautiful lady. 🙂

Rare steamboats Posted January 11, 2021 #1021 Share Posted January 11, 2021 The Ems river conveyance might be by the end of February. The authorities have announced that the dam at Gandersum is being closed Feb 27th in preparation for a conveyance. Meyer Werft did not comment or confirm any date. But that´s what they usually don´t do in these times to avoid any crowding along the Ems river. steamboats 2

Lloyd555 Posted January 15, 2021 Author #1025 Share Posted January 15, 2021 (edited) From Royal Caribbean blog. Royal Caribbean trademarks 15 names for possible cruise ship venues By: Matt Hochberg Royal Caribbean has started off 2021 getting busy at the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Royal Caribbean Group filed 15 different trademark registrations with the PTO for names that sound like they might be used for cruise ship venue names. Trademark registrations are notoriously vague, and rarely give much insight into what they may be used for onboard a cruise ship, but it can sometimes tip Royal Caribbean's hand in what they have planned. All of these trademarks were filed on January 11, 2021. While a lot of trademarks get filed but never used, some do end up being the names of new venues, services or even cruise ships. It can be argued that a trademark is filed when an idea reaches a point that there is a tangible chance the project may become a reality. Reading the trademarks rarely provide much insight into what the cruise line has planned, but these are important first steps for something new to become a reality. Anyone looking at these registrations should remember that they are filed on behalf of the Royal Caribbean Group, which means these registrations could be intended for a sister cruise line brand, and not necessarily Royal Caribbean International. With new cruise ships under construction, and other projects around the world in various stages of development, there is always a chance the dreamers at Royal Caribbean are ready to move from concept to reality, and locking in a name is part of that process. What's your prediction? Now is your chance to show us how much you (think you) know! Share your predictions what these trademarks will be used for on a cruise ship or private island in the future!
