Rare Saint Greg Posted February 23, 2019 Author #128 Share Posted February 23, 2019 I’m a little nervous about my car. My change oil soon alert came on last night. I have 6% left. I know nobody is going to be open on Sunday. I’ve been calling around. The two dealerships here are booked but Texas city has been having no shows so that’s where I’m about to head. Where to I put my money then? Not in the car. In the room? It’s a fat stack for my pocket. I guess backpack and keep it with me.
Black Magic Posted February 23, 2019 #129 Share Posted February 23, 2019 If your bank has branches in Texas, just deposit the cash and withdraw it on the day of the cruise. Just speak to them to make sure you will be able to pull it the day of the cruise.

ZoeyVictoria Posted February 23, 2019 #131 Share Posted February 23, 2019 I still remember the Cruise Critic post about a couple who arrived a day early and rented a car for sightseeing. They left a tote bag with their passports in the car, it was stolen, and they could not cruise. So just don't ever let the backpack out of your sight. Rare Saint Greg Posted February 23, 2019 Author #133 Share Posted February 23, 2019 I ran into another little snag. At my dealership I pay extra for an oil stabilizer. As long as I put that same brand and type in each change, it’s like an extra warranty from that company. This dealership doesn’t carry it. So they’re sending someone out to get my oil stabilizer from another place. Very helpful service department here at DeMontrond.
mvaughn11 Posted February 23, 2019 #134 Share Posted February 23, 2019 If you get time, I highly recommend going to the Kema Boardwalk! You're not far. There are all kinds of great restaurants and entertainment there. Kind of pricey but we really enjoy it. When we lived in Houston, we always drove down there when relatives came to visit...
Rare Saint Greg Posted February 23, 2019 Author #135 Share Posted February 23, 2019 Passed a Buc-ee’s on the way here. That’s always a must...they have the best bathrooms. I could spend an afternoon in one of their stalls. 4
CruiseMomTX Posted February 23, 2019 #136 Share Posted February 23, 2019 Welcome to Texas and yes Buc-ee's is a must! When we stayed in Ft. Lauderdale in Jan they didn't have safes in the room and we had to use a lock box at the front desk. Felt a little uneasy with it but worked out fine. When we got home from that cruise my husband bought a cross body bag he can keep on him with the money in it if needed or I put it in my purse with the passports. Will see how it works out when we board the Vista on March 3rd. If you visit the casino let us know what machines are good!!

mvaughn11 Posted February 23, 2019 #143 Share Posted February 23, 2019 Our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area is Lupe Tortilla but the closest one to you is in Webster.
atakkat Posted February 23, 2019 #144 Share Posted February 23, 2019 Greg, If there is a Pappasito’s around there you can’t go wrong with the fajitas or cheese enchiladas and definitely a Margarita. Following along for your adventures!
