Rare MicCanberra Posted March 2, 2019 #53 Share Posted March 2, 2019 It is sad when this happens for the people involved even if it is their own fault but it is certainly entertaining for the witnesses.
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 2, 2019 #54 Share Posted March 2, 2019 I hope to never be a pier runner and if I do happen to be one, I hope I am never left behind.

And, this time he has even copied another person's post and doctored it by changing the word "will" to "MAY" to support his argument. Isn't it unethical to quote a comment by another person and change the words to make it mean something they did not actually say? 🙄 I think it was clear that the poster changed the original post. The changed word was in a different color and FTFY means "Fixed That For You" indicating that they changed a post. Regardless of what was said, I don't think there was a netiquette breach in how it was stated.

That doesn’t keep me from booking private excursions, though.
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 2, 2019 #61 Share Posted March 2, 2019 Nothing wrong with Private excursions if they are a reputable company, just have a contingency plan which you should have with any port excursion whether the ship's, a private or a do it yourself outing. Watching that video (albeit, not as zoomed in as I'd like), it almost appears as if the husband is holding a passport or passports in his hand. Could it be that the port agent already had handed them off as they arrived (too late)?
Rare MicCanberra Posted March 3, 2019 #63 Share Posted March 3, 2019 We normally carry our passports when ashore for excursions, just in case.

Most likely, since the ship was pulling away, the passports, if they were still onboard the ship, would have been removed to the port agent by then.
