chiguypaul Posted March 10, 2019 #1 Share Posted March 10, 2019 I normally fly out of Chicago to Florida. This year in late December we are flying from Chicago to NJ. The worrier in me is concerned that a one overnight stay is risky given that time of year for potentially bad weather in both of those locations. Am I overthinking it and too concerned where I shouldn't be?
megr1125 Posted March 10, 2019 #2 Share Posted March 10, 2019 I'd stay over in NJ. Look, you just never know...weather, suspected fires in the cargo hold (like yesterday...) I don't think you're overthinking it and if you need assistance on hotels, let us know.
Budget Queen Posted March 10, 2019 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2019 How many days ahead of your cruise? Both these areas get hit with weather. And once it does- can be a disaster with cancellations. I'd suggest- if foul weather is predicted- leave- immediately, ahead of your scheduled flight. Fees many times waived. A lot better than missing a ship.
megr1125 Posted March 10, 2019 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2019 Kind of misread what you said, blame lack of sufficient sleep, daylight savings time, etc. I agree with Budget Queen, and maybe plan an extra night in the lovely EWR area.... 😁😁

May still come in the night of 26th just to play it (really) safe.

I mean, I don't think it's crazy to be a bit surprised that they're taking leisure cruises out of a place like NYC in the dead of winter. I personally wouldn't do at least a warm weather cruise starting there during that time of the year.
